You can apply new ball joints to your bar. But you will first need to detetmine the stud taper and come up with a way to drill and tap the link. You may want to weld on an appropriate threaded sleeve instead of tapping. Don't know what equipment or skills you have at your disposal.

Original one seems to have lasted 2-1/2 or 3 decades. Why try and reinvent the wheel. You'd be hard pressed to save any money....especially if you factor your time.

But DONT wait til it breaks. You will loose steering and have that loose arm possibly damaging something else with it.
