No experience here, I just got my first tractor a week ago but have gone through the decision making process for a couple years now. Tried to soak up as much information as I could.
The first tractor brand I was looking at was Branson. I liked the weight, lifting capacity and how basic it was in terms of modern engine control stuff. Another brand I was considering was Mahindra. Many of the same qualities and both seem to have many happy owners.
Your situation may be different than mine but this is why Branson and Mahindra didn't make the cut for me. Where I live, there are very few dealers. I'd have to drive hours down State to get to a Branson dealer. There was a Mahindra dealer just under an hour away and they closed up shop. Unlike the big players around my area, many of the dealers selling Branson and Mahindra also sell zero turn mowers chain saws and maybe rent u-haul trucks. Many of which don't actually service anything. And many of those dealers feel like fly by night operations either discontinuing sales of the tractors or going out of business altogether. It may be different in your area.
I'm not aware of any Kubota tractor dealerships that sell tractors that don't service them and/or don't have a decades long relationship with the community.
It also seems like parts availability (even before the COVID crunch) can be hit or miss depending on region and the parts in question. I have read first hand accounts of this both good and bad. I know at least one of the major Branson dealers in Georgia does about as good of a job as they can with their customers.
I decided to go with a Kubota M7040 partly because there is a well regarded dealership 15 minutes from where I live. My tractor isn't even new under warranty and I bought it from a private seller. I did buy a snow blower from them and a few other smaller items and I can say enough about how helpful they have been. They have been a fixture in the community for many decades and have a long term proven record.....IMO that's very important.
Many people have said it but good dealer support matters, even if you plan to do all the maintenance and repairs you can.
