Hello All,
I have a New Holland TC55DA with no rear remotes, and I'd like to add some. I've read through a lot of threads and seen that hydraulic power supply can come from either the power beyond port on the loader valve, or from a plate that is located inside the right rear fender, in front of the right three-point arm and above the right rear axle. I've seen posts where the cover plate where the valves for the factory remotes normally mount can be replaced with an adapter plate with two ports from Woods (1011423) or Tisco (HV4209), or one with three ports from Tisco (HV5209). They've been used to power backhoe attachments in various threads. I'd rather get the hydraulic power from that plate, because I'm already using the power beyond port on my loader valve to run to a second manual spool valve that operates my grapple claw. I could still do it, but it's pretty crowded under the floorboard on the right side already.

But here's my problem... the cover plate that is on my New Holland TC55DA is triangle-shaped, and mounts with only three bolts instead of four bolts like the part numbers above. So it looks like the 4-bolt ones don't fit my tractor. I have not seen my tractor listed as one that these will fit. Pictures below of my cover plate.

Here's my question...I see two ports on that cover plate, with hex plugs inside. One is on the side and the other is on top, shown in the attached pics. Has anyone used those ports to power remotes or a backhoe? If so, which is pressure, which is return, and where does return-to-tank go? I've looked at the NH parts diagram and I see that those ports do seem to be fed from inside that lift cover area... that is where the factory remote valves mount and get pressure and return hydraulic fluid. I have a pressure gauge that I could thread into them to see which one might be the pressure side.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I don't believe you can just plug into those ports. They had a adapter plate for a backhoe connection that allowed fluid flow in the right direction.

Your best option is try and locate a rear remote kit for your tractor. That will be the cleanest but may be difficult to locate one.

You can add a remote valve after the third function valve for your claw. But you would need to locate the return to tank line from your loader valve and add a T fitting for the tank port on the new valve.

Hi K5Lwq, I thought the same thing until I saw that my cover plate has ports on it. I was hoping that someone may have found a way to use this cover plate directly. I searched at length for a 3-bolt adapter plate like what might have been used on a Woods backhoe kit, but no joy.

I had already priced a three-remote factory NH set-up from Messicks. It is almost $5000(!), so I want to find a cheaper option. I can plumb up a system that will work for me, I just need to figure out where to get the hydraulic pressure.

I did already locate the return-to-tank line from my loader valve, and tee'd into it once already for the spool valve for my grapple claw. I can find a way to just add another tee somewhere in that line if the cover plate idea is a no-go.

Update: I found a CNH assembly manual for several backhoes on tractors including the TC55DA. It shows this port with the hex plug on the side of the remote valve cover used for return to tank.

It also says to run the pressure line to the power beyond port of the loader valve. In my case, I'll run the pressure line from the power-beyond port of my third function valve.

That I think should work. The only thing you left out is to run a hose from the PB on the new valve to the 3pt hitch valve.

Yes, thanks. I knew that I'd need to run the PB from the new remote valve back to the same port where the PB from the third function valve goes now.

I went with the separate third function valve because I found a nice NOS one really cheap, and it was less hassle trying to get a three-spool valve made like yours. You had a very informative thread a while back describing the hassle that you went through to get that nice Walvoil valve that you installed on your Kioti.

No doubt! You did a wonderful job on that installation. Very clean!

🙏 Thanks! It was fun learning how to use an antique tubing bender with SS tubing!
