Kubota sells a really nice drop into the filler neck plastic mesh removable filter you can buy from your dealer than eliminates any trash in the tank. I have one in each of my filler necks. Think the are around 6 bucks each.

Did not know there is a filter back there. Do you have any more info on it?

Get yourself an owners manual it shows that in there. If you already have one, I suggest you read it.

You can also purchase the WSM for about 250 bucks from your dealer or, download a pdf copy from www.kubotabooks.com if it's listed. Not sure it is.

Yeah, they used to include that on the older Kubota tractors. Apparently it was too expensive to for them to keep including a screen that costs them cents, but somehow they price of their tractors keep increasing even though they keep removing more stuff and turning everything into an option.

i also have a l4740 and I have read the owners manual and I have the shop manual for it. I am not aware of any spin on fuel filter on this tractor. I may have missed it but the only fuel filter I know of is the one in the sediment bowl. What do you mean by spin on filter? I"m thinking a canister filter like an engine oil filter. I have not noticed one but will take a look around my engine.

Yes, they did, no, not now. I don't believe any make or model of tractor has went down in cost, least none that I've seen.

Specially in the last 2 years... My tractor costs about $4000 more than the day I bought it in 2017.

Interesting how inflation works, isn't it? The value increases but the value of the currency decreases so in reality, you pay more but don't get anymore. Like my 97 Ford diesel. It's worth presently about 3 grand less than I paid for it new but if I sold it, it would cost me 80 to replace it, so I keep it. Not about to spend 80 for a truck that in reality is worth maybe 20.

My old Kubotas had those filler screens. Good for large crud. Not available for my newer tractors. Just checked Messicks online parts. Sad because tractors are used in dirty environments.

My WWII, 1944 WC63 truck had a pull out screened trough on the filler neck where you could use your helmet to 55 gallon drum to gas up.
