I did a quick search on this issue and nothing came up. The Kubota 3rd function on my M7060 seems to stick on my grapple when fully closed or fully opened. You can hear the hydraulic pressure tone difference with it still on until you tap the function switch on the loader handle. I've had this installed since new by the dealer. The tractor is now 5 yrs old and well out of warranty. I didn't really think much of it since I mostly used the grapple on my L3540 that has an after market 3rd function w/o issue.

I thought I had read awhile back someone else mentioned this problem with the factory 3rd function, but don't recall where. Anybody know of a solution to fix this?

thx

UPDATE: I was able to google the topic and it came up on TBN under hydraulics posted back in 2015. That OP had discovered chunks of metal in his valve body. No indication where it came from. I may pull it apart and see if there is some corrosion in there.

I don't think corrosion is very likely. Thats a sealed system. With your's sticking at the extremes I'd think in terms of something mechanical external to the 3rd ftn valve. Maybe even mechanical sticking of the grapple at the extreme open or extreme closed positions. Might look and see if there are stop adjustments. You tap the ftn switch on the handle and the 'straining' noise quits and it returns to normal operation? Is there a 'returen to neutral' position of you electrical switch? Srping return to center? Spring working?

Anyway I don't own the Kubota or factory 3rd ftn switch. Good luck with it.

Sounds like it could be an electrical issue with your switch. Check the electrical connections and clean with contact cleaner.

I have the same issue with the W&R Long 3rd function valve on my Kubota L6060. The problem started after around 50 hours of use. I can clear the problem by dropping below 1500 RPM. It gets to be a pain though when doing repetitive work at full throttle.

The WR Long kit on my L3540 works without issue so I don't think it has anything to do with the grapple. Could possibly be electrical with a hold down relay of some sort, but it only happens at the full open or close position. If I make other demands on the hydraulics while it is bypassing, it will pop off on it's own, so I don't think it's electrical. Seems to be more of a valve issue. I'm out of town right now so no time to put the valve on the bench and check it out.
