Good day all. Under normal conditions with the tractor moving I can change the drive direction using the power shuttle lever without stopping and without pressing down the clutch pedal. I noticed now that if I move the shuttle lever forward or reverse from a stand still the tractor will start to drive. Usually I need to press the clutch pedal, lift and move the lever, then release the pedal otherwise the indicator will flash. I suspect a faulty switch somewhere? Has anybody encountered this problem or have an idea where I should start looking?
My shuttle lever also appears to have some play and be a bit sloppy. Is there any wearable parts in this assembly on the side of the steering column?
Thanks

My TN60DA works the same way. No Power shuttle operation when you first start up but it can be used after using the clutch once even from a completely stopped position. The manual indicates it can start movement from a stationary position using only the power shuttle lever as long as your in the correct seating position. This makes me wonder if there is a permissive interlock between the power shuttle and a seat switch on these tractors. See the pic of applicable page from the manual. Hope this helps.

Interesting. When first moving from a standstill I was always required to operated it by needing to press the clutch pedal or otherwise the alarm indicator will flash (and it would not move). Now I can drive anytime without ever using the clutch pedal? Could be dangerous if I accidently move the power shift lever?

There is. Not being able to initiate movement with the shuttle control is a clear indication of a fault in the seat switch circuit.
The OP's loose control lever could be a result of loose mounting screws.

Thanks Rick. I will check those two things out. I was under the impression that my seat switch had been previously bypassed (if that is possible).

All the power shuttles I have run didn't need the clutch pedal to use.
My 8050 if the parking brake is one will not engage and just beeps at you,
The Puma will move even with the parking brake on.
I prefer mine in that regard, as when I get out out with it running just a light application of the parking brake
will prevent unintended engagement if bumped while getting out.

The problem was the seat switch, the tape came off. I knew it was taped closed (previous owner let me know that). If you shifted the shuttle lever into the center the clutch pedal would need to be pressed to go again. If you do a quick shuttle directional change you do not need to press the pedal. Having said that I actually like it better this way. If the switch is properly connected to the seat and you come off the seat it will stop the tractor and that is why it will drive when shifted from neutral without the clutch (as long as you are seated).
The loose shuttle lever was that all 3 screws had come out. Tightened them up and all is good.
Thank you all for your help.
