Yep, Amsoil. American made, see post #92.
Valvaline, Chevron Delo, Mobile 1Amsoil.
I use that in my tractors. I may switch my trucks to it.I use John Deere "50 Plus" oil in all my diesels. It has a longer life than the others and is superior in performance, I wouldn't use anything else.
I've been running it in all my equipment and the Cummins for years. It is getting a bit pricey in Canada though. $120 CAD for 5 US gallons. Rottella T-6 is about the same price for 0w-40. 5w-40 is a little bit cheaper.I use John Deere "50 Plus" oil in all my diesels. As engines have refined so as their lube needs. I think clean oil and the proper grade is critical to new engines. The brand is probably less critical. Tolerances are much closer than in the past.I was just thinking back today.... and reflecting on what I've seen in over 60 years of mechanical work - about half those years as a mechanic and half as machinist & mechanical engineer. That's a lot of motors, gadgets, and gismos.
And in that time I've never once seen engine wear or any motor problems that I was sure was the fault of the type of oil - and I've drained out some pretty nasty old oil.
I have seen hydraulics components that I believe were ruined by contaminated oil, and I've suspected a few transmissions & axles bearings & syncros were damaged by of the wrong oil...But no engines I could be sure of.
The only failures I've felt sure were due to the type of lube more than any other reason were all greases failures, not oils.

I don't know but that video is awesome!!! I watched the whole thing. I wonder what Country that's in? I've saw some fine craftsmen doing work with minimal equipment in Arabic Countries. This fits. Excellent.Do you think this crankshaft needed repair because of the use of automotive engine oil instead of Rotella, ??
I thought engines were "pressure lubed" at the main and rod bearings??
(I can not find any drilling that would flow oil to the bearings!! ?? )
Could this crankshaft be splash lubed??
