They say another storm is coming thru. Perhaps some of the impoundments will recover.

Very nice. I enjoy rainbows. We had one at work a couple months ago. Very nice double. A coworker commented that it's rare to see a double rainbow. I told him I see at least a dozen a year, if not more. He said he doubted me on that. Pretty much anytime it rains in the afternoon, we get rainbows. We've both lived in the same area for 60 years.

I told him he needs to get outside and look up once in a while.

For the first 11 1/2 months of this year we had 1.92” of rain. In the past 2 weeks we had 2”. Go figure.

Interesting - three weeks ago we had 5 in one day. Quite a sharp contrast. Nice picture.

Just finally got to my CA property. Power still out (day 5.) 18" of snow is left-- it was about 2 feet. Pond nearly full and will top the spillway soon. Next storm coming Tuesday. My next problem will be managing the runoff when it starts coming over the pond spillway.

Weather people say: "if no more storms this season, this is no better than last year!" Oh, BALONEY! Last season, the highest my pond ever got was 2 feet below the spillway. And that was after a full winter season, plus spring-time diversion of about 40,000 gals/day of water into it for a couple of months.

This is a very good water year in Northern CA.

It's never a good rain year in California.
We had a 7 year drought in late 80's and I was working knee-deep in mud when it came over the radio that the drought had ended.
Sacramento wasn't hit as bad by the drought as Sothern Cal but because we were in the state capital, we had to have a drought! The voters in LA needed to be kept happy!

I used to joke about the weatherman holding a rain gauge under his umbrella.....
