So much more content from the colossus that is Amazon.

The Amazon Prime app is available on Roku’s. I’m a Prime member. Is there some other benefits that Amazon throws in to Firestick users?

Can anyone suggest a good/cheapest method of TV viewing for folks with poor internet connection?
I pay for ESPN PLUS but can hardly watch for the buffering.
We have a "hot spot" WiFi with ATT, but best down is barely 5 and it slows even more during peak times.

Don't know where you are located. If your wifi is not good, try looking into cellular. Some companies are coming on with home wifi service via cell tower. I think TMobile just came out with theirs for about $50 a month, no data cap, no contract. Hope this helps.

I got basic cable for the local channels...coz regular antennas won't pick up Chicago channels, and we don't want an ugly bigass antenna sticking out of our roof.

Ever since the digital switch-over, even an ugly bigass antenna on the roof doesn't receive anything here. Our "local" channels on the cable come from a city over 3 hours away.

I had bought my first new TV ever, just before that happened. It's been down in my shed ever since. Hmm, I wonder if it's any good after sitting there for 15 years or more.

Why would anyone want to watch what is offered on TV for now. Its in its last little bit of relevance. I find Youtube to be much more interesting and available then what the networks are offering. TV is dead, old tech, that can not compete with the old system.

With occasional really poor speeds I've found Netflix performs a lot better then any other streaming service.

I am a retired electrical engineer, but not up to speed on modern electronic devices; for instance, I have no idea how to download an "app."

I am trying to figure out how to stream tv programs. I have a smart tv, but the controller lists only a few sources, none of which I think I want. What do I need to be able to do that?
