Good Lord - Doofy - - a real heat wave. I will NEVER forget the winter the wife & I spent in Glennallen. Working for ADF&G. Feb - the pipes under the Dept duplex froze. Guess who got to crawl under the duplex - start the salamander heater - get things ready to make the repairs.
I must have banged my head half a dozen times on the floor joists. However - while the "HE-men" were under the duplex making repairs - I was up having brandy laced coffee and chatting with my bosses beautiful wife. I think it was -25 or -30 below at the time.

oosik, I remember those days vividly. Being a maintenance man, I spent many a night under buildings thawing and repairing water and sewer lines. Don't miss those "Fun Times" at all!

Our below zero and single digit temperatures finally moderated yesterday when a warm chinook blew up out of the south. The warm wind continued all night long and this morning only patches of snow left on the valley floor and the sun is finally breaking through the clouds.
Pretty lucky here, 25 today headed to 0 tonight. Nice picture. Great view. But who put that huge pile of dirt there?

Winter has arrived with a VENGEANCE hasn't it? Easy for me to say down here in the southland. 
But we have had our share of winter since the new year. Snow a couple days ago and a "winter storm advisory" for tomorrow, what that means is we MIGHT get snow. Also, Friday is supposed to have wind chills in the teens. Back in the 40's for Saturday
