Of all the Dodge cars & trucks I have owned
and put many many miles on them these are
the problems that I have had!
Dodge 2500 diesel 2003 truck diesel replaced transmission 144,000. miles pulling pump jacks
on a daily basis. Our 1977 Dodge 1/2 ton pickup
almost went broke as I replaced a resistor block
on the fire wall cost couple dollars it would go out
exactly in one year so had an extra attached to
the fire wall so very easy to replace. And it only
took from 1966 to 2020 for all the high dollar
replacements over than oil, filters, plugs and grease.
Replaced the transmission cost $2656.00 complete.

In reality, I have no brand loyalty except I want the bulk of whatever truck I buy to be manufactured here from parts sourced here and believe me, I always check the parts content breakdowns. Stellantis has a penchant for using offshore made parts, guess it's because of the Peugot lineage.

I will never buy a foreign wannabe truck with a soccer mom bed.... and I pay cash too. To me, there is no romance in the finance unless it's farm related and I can write it off.
To funny "I PAY CASH TOO" Look at me,Look at me. :poop: Little man syndrome..:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I sure have hauled a lot of stuff in the 6' 4" bed on my Ram 2500 and the 5' 7" bed on the 1500 before that. I never knew it was useless and turned me into a girlie-man. Now I'm sad.
Sounds like a gender issue to me. Maybe you need professional help.

Most short bed trucks I see are weenie half ton anyway and it seems that all have crew (4 door cabs) too. You need a 4 door short bed truck, buy an SUV instead.

Minimum truck I require is a 1 ton.

I look at the weenie trucks as a status symbol more than anything else. Like the suburbanite that has to have a diesel tractor to mow his lawn.

I guess if you can float it, all good. me. I haul with mine, usually a tandem axle gooseneck and it's usually overloaded too.

No weenie truck with a weenie motor is gonna haul around a tandem axle GN very long without puking.

I would never buy a Dodge 1500 or 2500 for that matter. Dodge went to inboard mounted coils on those trucks and coils are about ride quality, not cargo. Coils belong on a Impala, not a truck. If I was to ever buy a Dodge, would have to be a 1 ton with leaf springs put back and a Cummins diesel under the hood.

I don't do weenie motors well and I certainly don't do clutch packed 8 and 10 speed slush boxes either. Might work for a while but when the warranty has expired and you need to fix one, better be hitting up your retirement savings because they are not a cheap date to repair.

In as much as I retired from one of FCA's major materials suppliers (steel) after 28 years, I know pretty well what is under the sheet metal and I will tell you one thing and that is FCA and I presume now Stellantis-Pugeot has no QC to speak of. They bought whatever was the cheapest when I worked there. Price was everything. Quality meant little. For me it's a Ford car (or truck) or no car (or truck).

We can discuss this forever, really don't care to. You buy what you want, I'll do the same.

End of comments for me.

Like the old saying goes... The Lord (and the UAW) made Dodges and Chevy's to keep the idiots out of Fords.... :p
Wow!
This has turned into an over the top brand bashing of Ram & Dodge!

Jealousy. Definitely jealousy.
I can’t blame you! Complete Lawn Cares truck is gonna make all of us jealous!
Anyway, back on topic of Ram and away from Ford, here’s a small load of hay I hauled last week for a fellow farmer buddy of mine. It’s only 12 tons. The Ram handled it with ease.
