For many years, the only OJ available was in those tiny, single-serve cans and it was potent and nasty. The only thing worse was the grapefruit juice in those cans.
That was some nasty stuff. Tasted like metal. 😬

Looking at the USDA charts, orange production has dropped nationwide pretty steadily in the past 10 years.

OJ has to now compete with so many other beverages compared to when we were kids, too. Back then, I remember milk or OJ. Coffee or tea. That's about it. Grandpa might have drank prune juice. 😛 Some families had chocolate milk, but most of my friends' houses had a canister of Quick if you wanted chocolate milk.

Most Orange production has left Florida, and for some reason California picked up the slack , but without any water.
Now Florida produces houses :cool:
I used to see miles of orange groves in Fl when I was a kid, now need to search to find any.
That might give someone that collecting taxes pays better than farming with less (well, NO) work.

Two things that are affecting orange production in Florida are citrus greening, a desease that causes stunted fruit and eventually kills the tree, and lasting effects from Hurricane Irma. It's been a steady decline for a decade now.
