Owner Dissatisfied With Deere Wants To Switch To Kubota

The JD 2025R was a good machine but for a couple visits to remedy electrical parts issues, but I just could never get it out of my mind that the driveshaft was gonna explode again like it did on the 4010. I go off my property and do trails across 2 neighbors' properties. Could see it being completely disabled over there across my tractor crossing that is likely too small for my neighbor to recue it on his 4052 monster.

Is this a known defect, I remember seeing something on a brand new one breaking as the dealer was prepping it for sale, he said he lost the sale an had to wholesale it as the parts went into the tranny and destroyed it... Here is another one on the 2320 but probably same thing..

I don't want to pile on this guy but it seems like a common problem.
People buy small tractors and don't know enough .
I was going to go on about his video but whats the point. Let him switch to Orange, this video didn't help anyone except maybe the guy who buys a used Deere soon.

MF 1635, happy

A lot of the problems with Tractors are attributed to the operator some think they are driving a big Lawn Mower

I just wonder if perhaps the tie rod ends aren't tight on the rod and over the +20 hours it has loosened up causeing the one wheel to tip in. Just wondering but if that's the case it should be reletivly quick to fix it.

Most on line reviews of equipment are as stupid as brand loyalty to equipment.
Sadly, you can get a 'bad' egg in every dozen once in awhile; but, appears to me to be several "issues" may be the problem= user error, dealer prep/checklist/how-to-use this or that, defective part(s). I would personally go with New Holland or Kubota for a smaller less than 50 hp unit but, that's just personal preference-I'm good friends with at dealer. The Deere dealer is very customer focused from what I hear; and, Deere makes very good equipment, especially with Deere 50+ hp engines--I.M.O, All are expensive as hell now compared to my 15 year old stuff...

if I was buying a new tractor, I'd buy a Kubota over a Deere just because of the local dealers. I've gotten great response and service from the Kutoba dealer, and lackluster, at best, response and service from the Deere dealer.

The tractors themselves are pretty competitive with each other.

I think Deere probably has about the same percentage of issues as about any other brand. Doesn't make them "good" or "bad". Just look on our own forums here at TBN under the "Deere" sub headings. Lots of folks have had issues. But, many, many more folks haven't had any. There are a lot of Deere's out there. Sooner or later, someone is going to have an issue with one.
Get 'em in the field, and, they're gonna break...eventually

I'm no expert on Deere's. I just notice there doesn't seem to be a lot of talk about problems on the Deere tractors above the 2R's. There are lots of happy 2R owners too. But every time you look at the forums you see the same issues year after year on the 2R's.
And my dealer is both Deere and Kubota and they talked me right out of Deere and got me to buy Kubota, and I haven't bought anything but Kubota since.
Both 'brands' good, imo; and, dealers are bu$iness men/women= if they can make more margin on one brand, everything else 'reasonably' equal. ****, I'd do it...$ usually always a BIG factor....

I have a JD 990 (40hp), bought used in 2006. A great tractor! I moved it to our mountain place and decided to buy a new, bigger tractor for the farm.

I bought a 2020 JD5055E. I do not like the tractor. Should have realized there were issues as 2018 and 19 5055Es were for sale all over the place. Some just take over payments.
1. It cranks over several times before firing. Probably due to the turbo. Well, I was used my other diesels starting at the bump of the switch.
2. No under-frame protection. Hydraulics and electrical are out in the open. On first outing in the woods, bent the 4 wheel indicator. Later, I bent a hydraulic line. Will build a skid plate.
3. Power shift (shuttle shift) does not always work. Works fine a few times and then will not without going back to neutral, clutch, and engage.
