DPF Regeneration driving me crazy...

They said this one would work also. But it did not.

It didn't work because the battery technology wasn't where it's at today. They were powered with flooded cell lead acid batteries. Good concept, just too primitive.

I'm still pissed I can't dump used crankcase oil in the creek anymore. Control!

Haha, like the others said dump it on the driveway instead. I’m sure asphalt millings don’t pollute at all

All this gets you to thinking…you have a tractor with a DPF that already suffers with higher fuel consumption. Then you have to run it at higher RPM to protect the DPF from clogging with soot, increasing fuel consumption even more.
Is this conserving fossil fuels? Or causing more pollution by needing to drill for more fossil fuel?
Add to the irony that you burn diesel fuel to transport the fuel by truck and rail unless you have a pipeline, and they just 86'd that.

Well, it's a given that truck and rail are far safer and better for the environment than a pipeline that pretty much follows the same route. 🙃

Given that the whole DPF BS was created by flawed studies in California, it doesn't have to make sense. I dealt with some of the bozos that pushed that into law. They were all 20 somethings living in cities and within bicycle range of work that had no care about efficiency/economy/or practicality. Their only concern was that anything that burned fossil fuels had to be eliminated as soon as possible by any means necessary. The "cancer clusters" near the ports of Oakland/Long Beach/etc. were blamed on diesel exhaust from trucks without taking any of the other factors into consideration (poverty/poor nutrition/smoking/drug use/etc.) The whole idea behind DPF was to make diesels less efficient while driving up fuel costs via taxes, so that drivers would look at (PAY FOR DEVELOPMENT OF) alternatives that might get to 80% of diesel's efficiency within 20 years. The teenagers dialing up the fuel pumps (with no adjustments to air flow) on their old mechanical pump pickups to "roll coal" didn't help matters any.

Given by whom?

My 1984 L275 (27hp) Kubota burned 2 quarts of diesel per operating hour. My 2015 L3301 (33hp) Kubota burns 1/2 gallon of fuel per operating hour. I can barely tell the difference in fuel consumption.
What would it burn/hour with no DPF?
