Yes, I am. Diesels under 25 hp. aren't required to have the extensive exhaust scrubbing diesels over 25 are now required to have. Step up to a larger tractor and it's there in one form or another.
Feeding the monster in the hopes it will eat you last -- Folly. You owners of older tractors that think you've out-smarted them? Wait until you need parts.

Currently, CARB says it is evaluating the potential for up to a 90% more stringent NOx standard and up to 75% more stringent PM standard compared to Tier 4 Final. A standard for carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions is also being considered; this would be the first time they would be implemented for off-road engines.......
.......CARB is looking to implement these new emissions standards across all engine power categories, including those which do not currently use exhaust aftertreatment devices. It says over half of all new off-road CI engines as of model year 2020 are certified in California to Tier 4 Final without devices such as diesel particulate filters (DPF)

California won't be happy until they can californicate the entire nation. In a few decades we will all either be using electric exclusively, public electric transportation, horse and buggy, or walking. Hopefully no other states will follow crazy Cal down their garden path.

Ok, I was confused, after reading this…
Nearly all of Mahindra’s tractor models in their Compact Utility (series 1600, 2600, 3600, and 4500) and Utility(series 5500, 6000, 7000, 8000, 9000) lineups do not have diesel particulate filters. This is because Mahindra’s mCRD engine eliminates the need for a DPF and never requires high-temperature burn-offs, which is a maintenance task that often gets forgotten by owners and tractor operators.

It's an automatic system on diesel engines and it seldom requires a "high temperature burn off" except under unusual circumstances. It will burn off the soot just by operating the tractor and at times automatically do a regen. So I don't know what you are talking about.

3 Horse Ranch,

I agree with you that’s why I said I was confused after reading the article I posted and ask you the question. I get it now.

The tier 5 article implies DEF for NOx emissions and DPF for particulates, and auto shut-down to minimize idling. With forced warranty extensions on Manufacturers (probably only on Emissions stuff only) means that any Diesel Engines sold in California will be more expensive/less attractive to operate. No clue how they plan on reducing CO2, since combustion usually produces CO. More sensors, more complex computer programming will result in more limp mode (or outright shutdown) driving costs even higher. The tax incentives for non-emission vehicles are there to drive down their price & (MAYBE) offset the additional cost of operating. NO. Cal already faces blackouts & brownouts with outrageous pricing of electricity due to PG&E fires & Mandatory sourcing of GREEN Generation (which doesn't provide surge capacity), so what is it going to look like when everyone is plugging in to top off their batteries? Basically, CA is telling Central Valley farmers/ranchers MOVE to another state & we can use your land to give free housing to illegals so that Apple/Google/Facebook employees in silicon valley can have their maids living in Modesto/Salinas/Soledad rather than further out. Similar to their High-Speed Rail. LA to SF was supposed to be 2 hours, it'll be 4 (minimum) if it ever gets done & Southwest flights can be had for pennies compared to the cost of operating that train. Who pays? CA and Federal Taxpayers. The idiocy will only end when money leaves the State and there is no one left to pay for the stupidity.

It won't end even then. Funny thing about dictatorial tyrants, they don't care who or what they rule over. Just so long as they rule. Anybody ever heard of North Korea?

Some may think I'm just being combative or trying to illustrate a point using hyperbole. I'm not. They really, truly and honest-to-God don't care.

I'm done here. I can say "Good Morning" and get reported. Probably already have been

I have no reply except I agree.

Its one of the reasons I tried to stay under 25 hp, but it seems I needed more rather than less and should have gotten a 40 hp or more...

25 hp. in a larger, heavier tractor can accomplish a lot of work, but it is limited. Our Boomer 50 just arrived today to help with our 20 acres and approximately mile and a half of driveway and private road. I was using a 27 hp. tractor so I know it is a little too small for the job, 50 ought to be about right. We were planning on a 40-45, but the 50 was the most readily available. 4 weeks from order to receiving it.
