How tight should loader pin nuts be on a CK2610 (KL4030C loader)? Is there a torque spec?

Thanks, maybe I mispoke and they are not the pin nuts? They are the large nuts that keep all the loader joints together. I figure if they are too loose, would that not encourage side to side play when using the loader?

Thanks I would consider them snug now, they were quite loose in some cases. Not sure how the ear got bent, but it was not from me snugging the nuts. I put maybe 15lbft on them, if that.

What would contribute to having grease flow out of the face when I am greasing the pins? It is very obvious on some locations, and in others it is not an issue. You can see a little in this picture.

Yep, I understood which ones you were talking about :) Those are not to be tightened. If you do, only do so until they barely touch the metal and no more. (Though preferably, back them off a hair).

On my 4030 (no C) the pins are only held in by teardrop keeper and a C-clip:

Notice how loose it really is, so no worries about it not being tight.

As for the grease squeezing out, its normal. When you grease a pin, the old grease (and dirt) gets pushed out and is what you want. Just wipe up the old with a rag.

While you are there, look down and locate the loader bracket bolted to the frame. Tighten the bracket to frame bolts to 100ft-lbs/135Nm. They tend to come loose.

Don't worry bout the grease. It's an open pin/bushing that should be greased every 10hrs or so.

Old grease and dirt has to go somewhere. Either let it cling there, fall off, or wipe with a rag

But what you describe is normal. Basic part of ownership and greasing a pin/bushing

Thanks for the reminder, I was going to get this done this w-e. Is 100ft-lbs from the service manual? I saw 125 ft-lbs as a min recommended torque for M12 fasteners (which I believe these are ). Good either way, I'm sure 100 ft-lbs would prevent most issues anyway. The real key being checking them often.

I guess I expect the old grease to go somewhere, but i feel better seeing ooze out from each side of the bushing in the joint than on the front face. Feels like a better purge of old grease I guess.

Standard 10.9 M12 max torque is 105ft-lbs/140Nm dry:
