I honestly dont understand how anyone shops on walmart online. I was looking for dentastix for my dog as costco was out. Costco sells 55 pack of large for $16.99, usually also on sale for $6 off of this price.

went to wallmart online. View attachment 733123 $49.70…..for 62 pack.

went to tractor supply, got a package of 40 for $14.99.

walmart sucks

Once in a while, Wally World has good online deals. Last summer I was buying 5-gallon pails with free shipping of synthetic motor oil and synthetic grease for $50 a pull.

So someone who, for whatever reason, can't move to other opportunities should be taken advantage of by a greedy corporation? That makes sense.

I've had to put up with a B.S. employer and positions because I had a family to support and a mortgage. Even as an engineer I found it difficult to find other gainful opportunities. Now imagine being over 50 and trying to find a decent job.
Employers are begging for job applicants today. I don’t buy your argument. And I have had to move several times during my career, selling my house and buying another. That is today’s world. People either need to be willing to move or accept that their career will not meet all of their expectations.

$15 an hour is not a livable wage unless you have at least somebody else also working. Moreover, moving costs money and involves risk that some people because of personality or circumstance cannot afford to take that risk. Do you expect employers paying $18 or $20 an hour to cover the cost of moving expenses?

FWIW, since I try to not be a hypocrite (I try), I pay people working hourly for me at least $20 but oftentimes, way, way more than that (I'm a real estate broker so I occasionally need people to drop everything and knock out a punch list so we can go to close).

I have no expectations or solutions; just stating a fact. Most of us have had to move once or several times to advance in our career. That’s the way it is in today’s world. In my case, we have moved 3 times in the past 30 years.

People making less than $20/hr don't have the luxury of moving as they can't afford it. So they are held hostage by greedy corporations, who by the way are making obscene profits recently.

When I was laid off in 1999 making a decent salary for a large corporation I bounced around a few jobs before ending up in 2003 in a federal gov't position. It was tough being the sole bread winner.

I've heard people on a local facebook page that apply for low wage positions and not getting hired. Local companies are saying they are desperate but aren't hiring.

$15/hr is more than some jobs are worth.

And you believe everything you read on Facebook? 🙄

What is an "obscene" profit? I don't think corporations are any more greedy than individuals.

We all have are challenges in our careers. That’s life. You either roll with it until you succeed or you fail. I’ve moved several times when I was poor and broke. People make excuses instead of doing things to improve their situation.

I also found it interesting that private corporations discouraged strongly (sometimes with a firing) discussing salaries amongst your peers as it they wanted to pay as little as possible. Capitalism without morality is nor better than communism.

I beg to differ with you on that one. $20 an hour on the east and west coast won't go very far. But in other states $20 an hour will get you a nice home and very comfortable lifestyle.

It's nobodies buisiness what I make an hour. And it sure isn't any of your buisiness what I make

Somebody's knickers always get knotted when politics, religion, and wages are discussed. As well as crude jokes among other things.

Bosses will usually curtail it, because you always have that one idiot thats gotta get into everybody else's buisiness. Let's face it. Everybody's self worth is always inflated.

A new hire will usually get there nose bent out of shape because they feel they are better then someone else they work with. Then get butthurt because the other person makes more then them. Yet they don't take into account that the other person has been with the company 5 years and has had annual raises to reflect that.

I've seen it time and time again. So if a new hire starts fishing about what I make, my answer is always "None of your buisiness!!!!".
