I am installing an amber rotary safety beacon on my 2010 Branson 6640. There is an electrical connector protruding from a grommet at the top of the left "A" pillar by the mirror bracket. The cable exits the bottom of the "A" pillar and routes into the fuse box. A fuse is present but there is no indication of where the switching occurs. One would presume it would be linked to the Hazard light switch, but there is no current at all. Has anyone done this before and do you have any advice? Thanks.

I just bought a magnetically attached, battery operated, amber, LED, rotating beacon for about 50 bucks and haven't looked back

I have a manual for a K78 in the electrical section it seems that the beacon gets power when the left front work lamp does.

So the beacon would only work when the front work lamps are turned on.
Have you checked for power with them turned on?
Also I think I have to have at least the parking lights on to be able to get the work lights on.

Thanks LouNY. This is invaluable. When it gets above -23C here, I'll go over to the shop and try that out. Seems strange that it is linked to the work lights instead of the Hazard lights. Still, now there is a chance that I don't have to run a new circuit. I'll let you know how/if it works.

Well, the saga continues... Blew the Main Lights and Work Lamp fuse. May not be related to the safety beacon because I had no connected it yet. However, the 6640c operators manual does not show the location of the fuse panel. I have searched everywhere I can think of to no avail. So, does anyone know where the main fuse panel is on a 6640c?
Thanks

Here is the location of the fuse box. I took a couple screenshots of the service manual.

And here is the link to the service manual in case you don't have it yet. 6640.pdf

I couldn't find anything about the beacon on this manual though.

ptsg, can't thank you enough. Branson documentation could be improved a lot and no one would complain! Of course my 6640 came with the fridge/food warmer and the fuse panel had to be located under a panel, under the fridge unit didn't it?! Well, all back up and running now but still a bit of a challenge with the beacon. With serious weather coming in tonight that is a problem for another day. Thanks again everyone for your kindness and help. Ptsg; thank you especially for the service manual. I'll let you guys know how the beacon install goes when I eventually get it working.

Oh don't thank me. Thank Asteral, a member here on the forum that works at a Branson dealership. He, very kindly, offered all the manuals available from Branson and put them on the forum for anyone to use as needed.

Here is the pinned thread for it. There should also be the parts manual for your tractor there, if I remember correctly. If not, I have it on my computer and can send it to you.

At this point, it may be easier, to just run a separate wire and switch to the beacon? I also need to buy and install on my tractor, along with the SMV sign. I've been slacking on that and it's now required where driving on the road.

I've seen the same wiring at the cab corner of my 8050 and thought about a beacon type strobe a few times.
I would be worried about it at times working along hedge rows I get a few limbs rubbing over the cab once in awhile.
