Kubota oil dipstick and filler locations..

Dont the engineers have feedback from customers and dealers, or are they kept in a locked room somewhere with no communication till they spew another faulty design for a tractor?
I'd rather them not fix it if it ain't broke when it comes to the engine. Being able to pull spares out of a scrap yard is way better than having a new dipstick location and filter every other year.

Well this one is driving me nuts every time I have to check the oil. Hope the engineer is happy with himself...

Why would anyone want to check the oil? The engineer is doing exactly as directed. This is today, not our parents do-it-yourself generation.

Either the oil is staying at the proper level or it is not. Either way it is something for the dealer's service dept to check and deal with during regular service intervals. Oil is no longer an owner issue.

Old fashioned concern with unreliable owner-oriented service procedures went away a decade ago. Back when retaining the owner's "right to repair" was considered and then disgarded.

Interesting. Neither of my M9's have dipsticks. Both have level plugs, fill plugs and drain plugs on the front axles and if there are no visible leaks, the lubricant isn't going anywhere, anyway. Not like the engine where it might get consumed. There is nothing to consume it other than a leaking seal and if you have a seal leaking, it's time to repair it. Only time I check mine is when I change it and refill it.

Gee, looks like a flogged engine to me and not a front axle. We ARE discussing front axles here, NOT engines.

The dip stick and filler tube are a non-issue. It works perfect for me, and the issue never crossed my mind.

No. You are the one who started talking about front axles. Everyone else was discussing the dipstick location...

I believe you are referring to the engine oil dipstick - which we are discussing here.
5030 just got his threads crossed. Easy to do. This morning we were talking about front axle oil - and front axle dipsticks - on another thread.

Thanks scotty. Being old I sometimes mix stuff up. Far as #18 goes, he's a dipstick anyway.

I will say my engine oil dipstick is easy to access but the filler isn't and both mine have filler caps on the valve covers as well as on the side of the block. The valve cover fill cap is even worse and I think I mentioned it but I drilled holes in my dipstick at the high and low mark so I can easily see the level as the oil will bridge the holes.
