YM 146 custom plasma cut front grill with LED lights

I just finished my custom designed plasma cut front grill with LED lights. I came out very nice. I used inkscape to create the file with the cutouts and bolt pattern. Then I had it plasma cut at the shop. The model letters are also plasma cut and spot welded to the light grill plate. I taped off the letters and polished them to make the letters shine. Then added a few coats of clear coat to protect the metal. I had previously made this from wood but now I have access to a plasma cutter. My next project is the shift plate under the seat I already have the files just need to cut them out and finish.

I only have access to a high-end 3D printer. On many of the YM models, the grill and lights are plastic or plastic and metal. So, I can see the benefit of upgrading past the 1970s Datsun autobulbs. LOL

Don't disqualify 3d printing, PETG is impressively strong for a plastic, and has so far been good enough for any project I had needed so far.

i built linkage for a actuator project, and it turned out great.

Thank you. Hoye tractor has a new fuse bank which was 3D printed. The fuse panel uses the new fuses instead of the old glass ones. I was thinking about 3D printing a the model number but decided to cut out the letters with the plasma as well. I have two other projects I am currently working on as well. A tiller that goes on my 3 point hitch which I also made. I found an old tiller 34" wide that has a gear box that can handle the 2000 rpm rear PTO speed. My second project is converting another mower deck to fit on my mule drive hanger. I found a YMM-45 that is very heavy duty. Just need to weld on mounts that will fit it.

There are PTO gear reducing coupler boxes made in WI that can take the 2000rpms down to 540rpms or even 500rpms. No need looking for a special attachment.

I would go that route rather than raiding an older implement with an unknown history and HP, but that's just my cautious nature. I am routinely impressed at what can work.
