That "GMC" on the side seemed like a pretty good indication to me...My eyes may not be great But that sure looks like a GM truck to me Not a RAM

I thought it was a GM truck.Another Dodge bits the dust. No loss.
Driver error by keeping the tires locked up. The higher than stock center of gravity (lift kit & larger tires) didn't help him at the end. He turned in to the skid, but with the tires locked up it did no good. I'm not a fan of ABS, but in this case I have to wonder if it would have made a difference and he might have pulled off the lane change instead of jackknifing. Why did this spin out? it didn't seem to be in an active sway situation, more like no rear traction for the truck.
I think the biggest problem was what appears to be non functioning trailer brakes... No marks or smoke in a panic stop unlike the truck.Driver error by keeping the tires locked up. Why did he need brakes? That was a standard 2000 lb landscaping trailer and they had virtually nothing for a load. They may have helped, but when the driver is a Dumas the battle was already lost.I think the biggest problem was what appears to be non functioning trailer brakes... Hard to jackknife under hard braking when the trailer is decelerating ( actually pulling back on the truck) and controlling its inertia better than the truck.
Late reaction certainly, and a hard turn did not help either.

With brakes there's half a chance that he could have pulled it off, without brakes there's no way.Sadly, trailer brakes can't stop stupid. Outcome would be the same with or without brakes with that driver.
