DL95 Hydraulic leak help needed

I have a GC1705 with a DL95 front end loader. One of the pistons on the FEL has a slow leak of hydraulic fluid. This has been going on for some time, but I only tracked down the cause recently.

I went to my dealer and they said the only fix is to replace the piston. I was fine with that until the gave me the cost - almost $900. I'm not sure if that's installed or just the cost of the part. Either way, it's crazy. Even the dealer said it was a waste to drop that much money and I was better off putting some kitty litter under the unit to catch the leak.

Question is... is the dealer correct? There is no fix for this - only a replacement? Can the part be sourced from anywhere else at a more reasonable cost? If so, is this something I can install or is the process very complicated (or needs special tools)?

Tractor only has 80 hours on it. Pretty disappointed at this equipment fail which requires such an expensive fix.

80 hrs? The machine comes with 5yr/2000hr warranty...are you not within that period?

If you're not within the warranty period for some reason a local hydraulic shop can probably either repair it or direct you to a less expensive replacement.

900, after tax, is about right according to parts book for the lift/tilt cylinders part AL60005499. all 4 are the same.
cheaper to take to shop and get rebuilt (prob about 300 for trueing and new seals) or buy seal kit AL5034251 (if your cylinders older AL12724310 part#)for around 72 or so and if you have the new cylinders (part AL60005499) the seal kit AL60010526 for approx 140 works if sure pistons and barrel ok.

in 2015 brand new 1710TLB had 1yr/100hr warranty.
in 2020 new 1723TLB, a 1723 bucket only, and a 1725M TLB had same warranty up here from same dealer.
thought the 5yr was powertrain only and not bucket/attachments.
I should check on that for the 3 2020 17xx series I deal with.

I’m just past the 5 years. Either way, I thought the 5yr was power train only.

I’m surprised the cylinder is that much (so was my dealer). When I was in the shop they had a larger model on the floor. That cylinder was only about $300. I was ready to have them do the work until they looked up my smaller tractor and came back with $900.

My DL100 loader (from 2010) is 535/cylinder. scuts can be expensive.
