Can't connect Pioneer fitting from my EA grapple to the tractor?

Any reason why you don't want to swap positions of one pair of fittings? In other words, have a male and female fitting on the tractor side, and on the implement.

When I bought my grapple, it came with hoses and pre-installed fittings, which was on of each. That way if I forget to relieve hydraulic pressure on the implement before disconnecting, I can simply tap the male end of the implement hose when re-connecting, which releases pressure and they connect easily.
This is the way I have mine so when I use my grapple the top button is always the open position and I cannot connect it backwards.

That's right, and having M/F on both tractor side and grapple, allows us to keep the protective rubber caps connected together, which keeps them clean (as opposed to them left dangling in the dirt.
Also, when the grapple is disconnected, grapple M/F hoses can be connected to each other. That may provide an advantage, such that both the pressure and return lines of the cylinder should equalize.

Not sure if this is an advantage, but at least it could be done.

Will S, Hooking the implement hoses together when disconnected is what I always do and I've never had a problem hooking back up. I do believe it equalizes the pressure and allows for no build up in the implement.
