Last year I got the battery operated combi-head to replace my gas powered head. I get between 45 and 115 minutes per charge on the battery using the weedeater, pole saw and hedge trimmer attachments. I liked it so much I bought the electric chainsaw. I have no regrets and don't want to use the gas powered equipment any more.
The batteries are expensive but warrantied for 3 years. The run times are comparable to using the gas models. If you use the power tools regularly then its like buying 3 years of gas up front and you reduce vibration, noise, weight, eliminating pull starts and stinky 2-stroke exhaust.
Recharge time is about 45 minutes. If you have 2 batteries you can run continuously with small breaks to swap batteries. Works good for me.
