Experience at Kubota dealer - central Florida

I can see why dealers wouldn't want any sales incentives when they can't get enough machines to meet demand. When I found a dealer who was willing to sell with the discount, it was like a breath of fresh air after the other ones.

Discount ????
The discount on the backhoe is a price increase.
$11,766 unit price, $12,043.25 discounted price.
Find another dealer.
/edit - heck the discounted price for the backhoe is about what I paid for my M4700!

I've always thought of Kubota as the brand that every other brand competes against in small to mid sized tractors. Every time I've wanted to buy something, I looked at them online, read all I could about them here on TBN, then went to the Kubota dealership to see what they had, and what it would cost. I did this for my first tractor, my zero turn, my UTV, and even last year when looking for a cabbed tractor. In every case, the sales guy talking me out of buying from them. He wasn't consistent in his knowledge of what I was looking at, he couldn't tell me what Kubota had to offer over the competition, and his pricing was always along the lines of take it or leave it. So I went to another brand and bought something other then Kubota. One day I'll probably own a Kubota, but I doubt it will be brand new from the dealer.

Something is not right if their "deal" was more than list price from the Kubota site. I don't have a lot of confidence that the salesman is on the ball either.

When I checked a couple years ago, the equine discount was about the same or slightly less than what the local dealer normally discounted with the typical incentives from the factory. That was before Covid messed up supply and demand though.

Sales is where you sink or swim and the ones that do it well know their product and deliver…

Unfortunately the bar to entry is low so just about anyone can get hired on commission.

Window Stickers on cars made window shopping easier…

Too bad it is so hard to even get a price out of many dealers selling tractors.

My best and worst Dealer experience is with Kubota…

Best was my selling dealer but that small family dealer is no more.

Worst is when I went to buy a post hole digger and was asked where I bought my tractor and since it was not from them I was told they would not sell to me… honestly what happened.

Called Kubota and was told Dealers are Independent…

My current Dealer is good but got off to not so good start.

Coming back from the mountains I had my nephew with me age 10… we were looking to buy L3800.

The owners wife said children not allowed on the sale lot and I could look but the boy would have to remain in the car…

Now the boy is the one with the most tractor hours and also the one that does the daily greasing, etc…

You can"t mess with most of those corporate Kubota dealerships, you will have to find one of the family owned dealership"s to get that price down, and never show them the price that you have researched off of the website until he show"s you his price, you can find out real quick how honest they are.
That has nothing to do with "honesty". It has everything to do with price hikes that can happen in a matter of days and in some cases; hours...literally.
Websites cannot keep up with what info the dealer gets from corporate with a mere email.
Whether it's family or anything else, you are always told by corporate what your next tractor order is going to cost.

Wish it was straight forward but few things are when money is involved.

Kubota provided me a loyalty discount coupon which was unexpected but appreciated since looking to add a tractor…

I would have thought it straight forward… make your best deal and deduct the loyalty coupon.

It did end up that way but was not automatic… everything stopped for a day and then the dealer said they would honor it.

Naive me didn’t think a dealer could refuse to honor it.

Not the issue about "your boy and his experience". Has all to do with litigation and the myriad of other "little boys" climbing all over the equipment and slipping and hurting themselves and the subsequent possibility of a lawsuit.
As far as the boy "remaining in the car": that's about parents or guardians thinking it perfectly alright to perch their youngun top of the seat or in the bucket (and in one instance we having a parent place their 1 yr old in the backhoe bucket to take a pic of".
I'm of the type of you are responsible for your own actions but litigation has made that mindset less popular. It only takes "one" who is so sue minded and those people seem to be growing in numbers.
Personally I think it abhorrent we have gotten to this point but there you are.
