More often it happens that somebody new resurrects a thread, often asking the OP something. Then others start replying to the original question, without realizing that the OP hasnāt been around for 10 years.

I for one am guilty of trying to find a solution to a problem. I search for an appropriate forum and ask the question. In a senior moment I do not bookmark the site I queried. 3 or 4 days later I plan to check if I got any result, but forgot where the site was. Sometimes i can search my history, but sometimes I have cleared it.

The other side of the coin is āHow many times does the OP need to thank people who respond with suggestions, after posting that he solved the problem, and how he did it?
Also, how many months should he continue to monitor the post for people who are late to the party? Stuck drain plugs excepted, of course.
