What TV did you watch as a kid?

Mid Atlantic Wrestling, Saturday early evening, eating (plastic tub) pork barbeque sandwiches.
Johnny Weaver and George Becker.
Went to see the wrestlers at Richmond Arena once, and checked the blood (by tongue) to see if real. OMG!

If you have read anything about the Indian wars, you know that they were cruel beyond imagination. I can see where killing women and children and desecrating their bodies might affect your opinion of your enemy.
The question though, is "Who did it first?" Aside from the argument that we should never have moved here, of course. ;)

We also are moving into "Front Porch" territory at this point though... better to move back to television.

Earlier in this post or another I asked about a motorcycle riding mouse; I finally remembered who it was. "Motor Mouse"!!!!

Used to watch Shock Theater in WSJV, Elkhart, at midnight. They always showed some good, and a few cheesy horror films. After the movie, it was the national anthem and a test pattern for a minute or so before they shut the transmitter down until 6:00AM.

We lived in a valley bottom of a ski resort. between two hills

To have TV on the RCA console dad had us kids run 300 feet of twin lead up the mountain side then up into the tallest Pine tree we could find. Dad topped it and mounted the antenna on top. We used walkie talkies to get the antenna pointed in a direction that would give watchable CBS ABC and NBC.
Dad was the high school wood shop teacher so he built an actual TV room with no windows and custom seating into the house in 1965 as we expanded and remodeled.

Saturday mornings Space Ghost, and anything Warner bros.

weeknights

Star Trek all of the 1st airings- For some reason there was always Peace in the house when Star Trek aired.

Wild Kingdom with Marlin Perkins.
Daniel Boone with Fess Parker
Dragnet
UFO- the series
The Time Tunnel
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea
Twilight Zone re runs

Saturday nights
stayed up real late to watch the original premier of
"Saturday Night Live" and was hooked for the first few years.

Also ran my own long line antenna for AM radio and would listen late night to CBS Radio Mystery Theater with E.G. Marshall.

Same channel I think, was Creature Feature.

I always wondered why TV went off at night in the 50s, 60s and early 70s. Was it loss of revenue in those hours or federal regulations?
As far as I know, it was because they could not generate enough advertising dollars to justify running programming 24/7.

Now, they have enough advertising to keep running. A lot of that is due to digital content. The newspaper I worked for was family owned and also had several TV stations. In fact, one of the first in the country, that started in studios in the newspaper's building. About 15 years ago they got into bed with google advertising. There are servers installed in the station that have tons of ad content stored on them. If the station cannot sell any local or national advertising to fill a spot, the servers automatically insert advertising in the blank for pennies on the dollar. So that's why you see obscure weird products and infomercials advertised at odd hours of the night. It's the bottom of the barrel, run it if you have a spot open, lowest cost TV advertising available. There's no guarantee that your ad will be run, but if it is run, they'll send you a bill.

We had Bob Wilkins for Creature Feature on KTVU for 15 years...

Bob was born in Indiana...

And the classic that all night owls watched, as the station signed off for the night. They played this right before they switched to the test pattern. I have no idea what the Morse code at the end says.
