The wires that runs from the mower blade-engage pull knob to the electric clutch have torn loose from the plug at the electric clutch 3 times now. Don’t know why this keeps happening but we replaced the drive belt last fall. Apparently some rotating machinery is catching the wire even though we have tie-wrapped the wire away from the belt. Has this happened to anyone else and any recommendations? The grass is growing!! Thank you!

Is the clutch anti spin bracket in place and engaged in the clutch housing to prevent it from spinning. Almost all the time the reason behind the wires getting pulled out is because the anti spin bracket is broken or missing.

Item 12 is the failed component you need to look at. Located on left side of frame and should protrude into slot on clutch.
Thank you for your reply, Randy T! Checked the anti spin bracket this eve and found it to be solidly in place and well connected. Didn’t know about it until your post, so hadn’t checked it before, but it appears to be solidly attached. If you have any other ideas, would appreciate hearing them and Thank you once again, for your response!!

Perhaps a few well placed band-wraps are the answer.

Now, after taking off deck, taking off the anti spin bracket and bushing (#20 on parts list) and found it to be heavily scored and the bushing it fits into on the clutch to be ”wallowed out” a lot! So just tugging on the bracket doesn’t really tell the story and Randy T’s diagnosis identified the problem-Thank you!!!
