I have discovered a better way to fix sweet corn than boiling. After shucking, I soak in water for 30 minutes, then brush with olive oil and spices and wrap in foil. Roast on grill, turning periodically for about 20 minutes. Turns out more flavorful than boiling. If you don’t soak in water, it can tend to burn; soaking prevents that and allows steam to assist with cooking.

My wife likes it shucked and grilled, but I prefer to soak and grille it still in the shuck. That really lets it cook through without burning. Either way we don't wrap it in foil, just put it on the grill.

That works too, but the foil wrap allows me to slather the ear in olive oil and spices. It’s ready to eat after unwrapping.

I do the same thing using a slow-cooker/crock-pot. The different combinations of spices gives an amazing taste.

Still, boiled + butter & salt is yummy.

A lot of people don/t know about olive oil. It's a great taste. We also marinate and then baste BBQ meats, chicken, fish and even hot dogs and hickory smoke things on the the side of the grill with low charcoal. Everyone loves stuff done that way and wants to know our secret. Corn is especially good. Olive oil is your friend.
