I got my 1025R last year and have put about 30 hours on it. I had them run it through the service department for a full service. It had about 270 hours so it was due for everything and I had it all done. I had the mowing deck off of it this weekend and decided to grease the U-Joints on the main shaft while it was open underneath. I assumed it had been done at service but wanted to hit it again. Well, it must have been skipped I guess. The rear U-Joint only bled grease from one of the 4 bearings and the front would not take grease at all. I used an awl to push in the ball and it was free but would not take grease. I just hit buy now on a lock and lube coupler on Amazon. Hopefully that will get it done? If not what is the best way to remedy the situation? Do I need to try to figure out how to remove the shaft to change out the zerk?

I have the same problem on my 2025R with the 4" Lock-n-Lube. It works for some people but not me. I've micro-rotated the driveshaft via the flywheel but got too darned tired out trying to get the right angle. I was able to use my 4" needle tip to get it greased but that won't work for you. If you can get the Lock-n-Lube to lock on, it's rated up to 10,000 psi so you have a darned good chance to force grease into the U-Joint!!!
I've seen where the newer models have a larger hole in the frame, like a dogleg to make greasing it easier. Also, some people bought a step drill to make the original hole larger. FYI.

I assume you are talking about the one towards the front that is tucked up high. Hard to describe but there is a slot a little further back that I go through instead of the hole, this slot has some fuel or hydraulic lines going through it. I then use the hole as a viewing port. I also use the flywheel to rotate it to get the angle right. It might take me 2 minutes to grease that one joint or a frustrating 10 minutes. I also am using an electric grease gun which might have a little more force.

Had JD do the driveshaft Ujoints one time on the 2025R. They actually removed the whole shaft to be able to cock the joints to get their grease gun on the zerks. Long as you do every so often to make sure they aren't dry should be enough. Only had mine done once about 200 hours. I have no idea how they got to the front part of the shaft to remove the whole thing. Cannot even see it on the 2025R.

I just did them on my 1025R yesterday and called it a LOT of names before I got everything just right to grease the one at the engine.

Heat the joint and fitting with a propane torch for about 15 seconds. That will liquify the grease inside and let you grease it. Don't care for the LNL grease couplers, the barrel is to large in diameter. Why I have the McNaught coupler. Barrel is much, much smaller.

I’m not sure you can get a torch on that joint, it’s tucked up in a pretty cramped area.

The Kubota B2601 does not have a Ujoint on the driveshaft. They just carefully align the engine and HST shafts and put collars over the shaft in between. Several other Kubotas are done this way.
