Been flipped off more than once, I just smile and go about my business. Little do they know there is a 45 next to me on the console. If it's not the 45, it's the double barreled derringer loaded with 45 LC's. I never leave home unarmed.

My motto is, 'an armed society is a polite society'.

There are limits. Failing to maintain a single lane of travel is a violation. Have your excuses ready.
For some reason that reminds me of a ticket I once got. As I was pulling from a private drive onto public road I could see a cop car coming so I was very mindful of my driving. He did U and fell in behind to follow about 1/2 mile before pulling me over. After showing license and insurance,I asked why he pulled me over. Cop said he would let me know when time came. I ask if he was familiar with probable cause which pissed him off so he gave me a ticket for failure to maintain lane, noted "crossed white line" in comments. I requested jury trail and on questioning, cop swore I crossed white line. When I presented my defense,I had dash cam footage from time I left private residence to time I was pulled over. Before resting I called jury's attention to cop's sworn statement that was shown by video to be false, thereby makeing his intire testimony suspect. Prosecutor asserted and judge agreed video clearly showed me crossing white line twice, once on entering road and again when pulling over. Jury found not guilty but clearly the judge knew I was guilty before hearing evidence. There were enough violations of court rule in that to warrant sanctioning the judge , prosecutor and cop but you know what they say,"you can't fight city hall".

I have not had a ticket in at least 30 years and 20 of that was commercial driving. Knocking on wood...lol

You might be right. An acquaintance that had part of a Browning M2 50 cal replica exposed above his moon roof never had anyone flip him off.

It is a crazy world, i too ran emergency traffic for many years and yes some folks do not like lights and sirens and anyone associated with them..

What amazes me is some people refuse to move over for an emergency vehicle with it's lights and siren on and move over when a police officer is on the berm with their lights activated or at least slow down. Very inconsiderate and self centered.

Years ago I built a Tailgate Slimer, which was a gallon jug, a windshield washer pump, and a nozzle hooked to my tailgate. If they got too close, I would wash their windshield for them. If I was feeling mean, I would mix some watercolor paint to match windshield washer fluid and use that. Now that the highway is full of armed whackos, I don't do that any more.
Oh MAN, you just gave me flashbacks to my teenager days on the roads here in Michigan. I had a souped up Mitsubishi Eclipse hatchback. The rear glass sprayer nozzle could be rotated from spraying downwards onto the glass, to upwards and hitting about 20' behind you. When d-bags would tailgate incessantly, I would give them a hearty spray and then punch it and take off; few could keep up. But even 20 years ago, people would lose their minds over you spraying anything, even innocent washer fluid, onto their fancy sports car or luxury SUV. I always meant to use food coloring and die the washer fluid red or brown or something, probably good I never did that.

A friend once told of using the rear view mirror to shine the high beams of the car behind him back into the guy's eyes. (He was a passenger at the time.) Supposedly the guy backed off, dimmed his lights and stopped tailgating. I tried it once while stopped at an intersection and actually watched the light reflect across his face; but he still didn't get the hint.

The amazing thing that we always had to be on the watch for.....
People stopping right in front of the rescue, in the left lane... there's plenty of room to pull to the right on a 3 lane road! Why are you slamming on the brakes right in front of us?

At least you have an emergency. :D

Years ago when policies made it advantageous for Canadians to do their shopping on this side of the border I was headed south down the interstate, near the off ramp for the local mall. Traffic was backed up all the way down the offramp and spilled out into the right lane for some distance up the road. I pulled out into the left lane and was going past them.
Remember the discussion above about people driving to the front of the line, rather than merging?

The car in front of me got to the offramp and stopped. Dead. In the passing lane.

At the time the speed limit was 55 and that's how fast we were going. I started downshifting fast, did some fancy gymnastics on the steering wheel and brakes, then checked my mirrors to make sure that I wasn't about to get hit myself. If there'd been a tractor trailer bearing down on me I was all ready to put it out through the median, allowing the :censored: in front of me take the hit instead.
