Interesting. He dropped out after receiving a note from management asking him to remove a religious line from his signature, but until your post I didn't realize that his profile was gone.
I had forgotten about that. I did not realize that all of his old posts were gone as well.

Remove a religious line from a signature? Guess I need to read the rules.
There are some qualifications about posting religious topics... I just glanced through the rules but couldn't find it. (The first time since 2005 that I've read them. :D)
One member often complained about a line in the former poster's signature, and some assumed that he had written a note to management. Then again, he complains about everything so it's hard to say.

I looked earlier, and I thought it said no religious or political discussions allowed. I don't like that. A trade forum I am a member of banned political discussions a few years ago, and participation as a whole cratered. Doesn't seem to be a problem here though, as far as I can see.

Politics have never been allowed here, except for one forum which I believe that you need 50 posts to join. There are plenty of other places in the web to to express political viewpoints.

Ok. Thanks john mc and jstpsssg. I have one ordered. It’s being delivered. I have a little buyers remorse. Also, don’t want to be tough on the little tractor. It’s a 35m. Mahindra 2816hst. So only 21 pto hp.

Just don't forget that and you'll be fine. The same holds true for all tractors at some point, so don't have any buyer's remorse.👍
Straight line pulls until you have 20 hours of winch time observing every reaction to the tractor, winch and log. It's a job that understanding the loads and conditions will keep it "all good".
I believe it's called situational awareness, important for all machinery "stuff".

Yeah I’m not too rough on gear. But a gentle pull from these winches from what I’ve see, puts a lot of force on those 3pt links. Especially that top link from the geometry the way I picture it. No doubt the lower pulley would look like it would reduce top link force a little. I imagine when folks skid using the top pulley and not the lower winch frame , that the log tugging must put some shock load on that top link too

And I’m sure due to my hp rating the 30 m might of been what the tractor could handle too. But I liked the lower pulley for that reason on the 35m. As well as extra cable length. I wasn’t aware of the offset pto line though. I have never seen one of these in person I do not believe. I have a j5 which is really more suited for woods work and nothing to break on it. I thought of putting a clutch pump on it ran off the crank but not sure I want to mess any of that up. I also thought of running a stand alone small engine for the winch only on as well. Maybe a future project. It can pretty much go where the tree is. Except for hills. Their not the greatest on hills as it wants to stand straight up going up. And nose dive going down. But side stability can’t be beat. The tractor being on tires with a small Diesel engine is more fuel efficient , and lots of small birch etc along old logging roads that people with atv just can’t reach. And logs on the hills along the roads.

An old pile of rounds gone to waste. Makes a heluva burn pile though. All we need are some weenies and s'mores fixin's.

I've been using the Uniforest 35E (predecessor to the 35M, same pulling power) behind my New Holland TC33D for about 15 years now. It has never caused a problem with my tractor. You have a litttle less HP, but your 3PH is rated to lift more. I don't think your have a problem with that winch.
