How do I remove the dash from a 8540 with ROPS? I need to lube or replace the shift cable.
can't help you but please post what you find out. had to replace the hyd shuttle cable on same model. it is an involved job. they really should have an accessible oil lube nipple as routene maintenance given the cable's frequent use. regardsHow do I remove the dash from a 8540 with ROPS? Both my range shift and the main box shift are all via mechanical linkages. No cables at all. Only my PTO is cable operated. but then mine are antiques.can't help you but please post what you find out. had to replace the hyd shuttle cable on same model. it is an involved job. they really should have an accessible oil lube nipple as routene maintenance given the cable's frequent use. regards
ok then, both of ours are cable. be interested in outcome, good luckMine is sync shuttle, it has a cable
Mine is as well and like I stated earlier you can access the cable by removing the wheel and fender on an open station unit, that allows you unfettered access to the cable and where it hooks to the hydraulic valve on the side of the gear case and you can also adjust the lockup pressure there but you will need a liquid filled pressure gage and fitting. I borrowed that from my dealer when I checked it. On my open station the shuttle lever goes down the column a ways and the cable hooks to it. I was having issues with it not retaining a neutral position so I applied some P Blaster to it followed by some light motor oil and that has appeared to work. If it don't go to the neutral position on mine, it won't crank.shifters on mine are similar, all mechanical linkage. but assuming you have hyd shuttle, that is cable operated i believe on mine at least. that's the OP's situation. will be interested in the outcome
