Are special tools needed to replace a clutch on a compact tractor?

Did the dealer mean a puller was needed to remove the pilot bearing?

I am not sure. He didn't mention the pilot bearing. I may call them back and ask.

You should be able to use a slide hammer with a side hook to pull the bearing.

Also, you can use an automotive style alignment tool when installing the new clutch. Remember to make sure that it fits the NEW pilot bearing snuggly.
