Good morning! 78˚F before sun rise, heading to 102˚ again today even with a few clouds.
My weekly garbage pickup is $5.26 a week or $22.65 a month which includes picking up the recyclables also every other week.
If I had to do a dump run it would cost me more just for gasoline.
Roy, have you tried vodka as an (organic) weed killer? how much is vodka by the gallon? 30% vinegar is $20.

Good Morning
It’s 72 and going to the middle 90’s under a bright sun.
Another dry day if you don’t count the high humidity.
Yesterday kept me busy with a myriad of small chores, it is nice to keep whittling the list down.
Today will start with servicing the Progressive mower, it usually takes at least a tube of grease, I think I might give it a good bath first. I don’t need to mow, but I might as well get it ready in case we ever get some rain. It will be beastly hot and uncomfortable later in the day, so that will be the first thing on the agenda while it’s still reasonably cool.

77 outside. Heading to upper 90's where we have been hanging around for a while. Humidity is the issue.

went out and watered plants, picked a few tomatoes, including one big one some unknown had munched on, few green peppers and small squash.
Came in soaked in sweat.
think I might look for something to do in garage before it gets too hot.

Thanks, Billy. More than the usual aches and pains this morning, but not as bad as yesterday. I guess like Luther, I don't heal as quickly as in my younger days. Just noticed a little blister on my big toe from yesterday's work; supposed to go hiking this weekend, too. Know any quick fixes?
The cheapest vodka I could find online, Don, is about $43/gallon. Vinegar is less expensive. But at what concentration are they applied? I've had very good results with 3% glyphosate. TSC sells their Farmworks 41% concentrate for $60/gallon, and if my math is correct, that works out to about $4.40/gallon at a 3% concentration level.
I've been noticing some heavy equipment moving dirt at a site across the canyon the past couple of days. Yesterday around noon I heard a pair of sirens that stopped there, so they probably sparked a fire. Can't find any mention of it in the news this morning, though. I can't imagine doing that kind of work this time of year without at least a water truck on hand, just in case, but money's tight and I guess people still take chances.
Off to San Simeon, CA today for a long weekend. Highs will be in the low 70s, lows in the upper 50s. I packed a pair of shorts, but I don't think they'll get much use. I also packed a down vest, and I hope I don't need that, either!
