Love our 16. Almost 40k miles with no problems. I didn’t realize how loaded this truck was when I bought it.

No problems except the backup cam is flaky at times. Avg 22-24 mpg. 28+ on long hwy trips. 17 mpg towing light loads. Never avg more than 15-16 in my old ecoboost for comparison.

60k miles. Just changed the stock Goodyear’s at about 50k miles. No problems, we tow with it regularly.

I'm at 80,000 with my 2015, it quit on me 10 days ago.
Had to have it towed in, the tone ring (timing) self destructed.
It took my local dealership quite awhile to come to that conclusion.
About 3 hours, so I got a ride home. I was amazed when I got a call
about 2 the next day, the part had come in and was installed and the truck was done and ready to pick up.
They had to pull the tranny to install the tone ring.
Even so fairly happy with my truck, even got the transfercase to be acceptable added a switch which applies
full voltage to the clutches.

I've seen quite a few reports of these failing, so it's good they are keeping the replacement parts stocked up for quick repairs. Stuff happens with any brand, and I can accept that as long as the dealer can get me repaired in a fair amount of time like your's did.

Friend of mine had one 150KMS I think it was, figures it turned a main, sounds like a bag of hammers. He was telling me there's someone local that drops a Cummins in them, can't imagine that being an easy retrofit both physically and electronically, from a Fiat to a Cummins..............Mike

Almost 6 years and over 100k trouble free miles. I did have to get the AC repaired due to an evap coil leak. No engine or transmission trouble. Pulls light to medium loads great, and the brakes are original.

Along with the Ram Ecodiesel, I think where these lighter diesels could really help is in the large SUV market, like the Tahoe Diesel and the Jeep Gladiator diesel.
An extra 2-3MPG is considerable if you are driving 20,000+ miles per year-especially on the highway. Would make a great “western” vehicle for NV, CO, MT, UT, NM, etc.

Do you do much stop/go driving (town/city driving)?
I hear the DPF/DEF on the newer diesels are troublesome if they are driven short distances constantly.
I do a lot of short trips, but also tow heavy and that gets the DPF hot and cleans out the system.

The Tahoe 3.0 L inline six Duramax is probably a great engine but I would certainly investigate longevity of the chains driving oil pump, fuel pump & camshaft at the back of the engine, before seriously consider buying anything with that engine.

As far as I recall, they are designed for 150,000 mile life, which may be fine for most customers, but buyer be-aware.

Replacement of the lower chain(s?) will require dropping off transmission which is little more complicated in 4x4 truck - no problem for a mechanic with a shop & proper tools.

Yeah I guess it’s like the Nissans that require timing belt replacement at ~80-100k miles.
A little more involved on the 3L, but also done at 150k, which is quite a few more miles.
Would like to see the cost on that repair and factor it in the buying decision.

It still looks like diesels have been priced out of the market with the added after treatment system cost up to $5,000+.
Many gas engines now have turbos, so their costs have jumped a bit, too.

I almost had my wife convinced to buy a Tahoe diesel, but the BMW won out
