Sister fed me mud pies as a child and we played outside from dawn til dusk. We all had awesome immune systems and still do today. "Country Strong" is a thing that pays huge health dividends for life.
Dawn until dusk is impressive in alaska, one morning the sun comes up and doesn't go down for 3 months!

Hahahaha! True. But, I am a transplanted Texan. I ate most of my dirt there.

Father came up on a Drilling Rig in 1962, liked the area and Mom and I drove on up and liked it too.

One of the hottest businesses here is an Amish cheese factory that takes all of its milk in from metal cans and prides itself on unpasteurized cheese. I have been eating it and drinking raw milk for years

It's not "raw" milk. It's just milk. It was meant to be consumed that way and was for hundreds of years. All the other watered down variations that cause things like IBS should have the adjectives in front of them.

Let’s realize there is a difference in raw milk depending the breed of cow.
For a glass of cooled whole milk skimmed from the top of the pitcher and from a Jersey Cow.

That would be cream not milk, skimming was not allowed had to be stirred before you got a glass. otherwise no one would drink the last half.

Up until last fall I drank raw milk for many years prior and grew up drinking nothing but raw milk.

I also made all of my own butter all of those years too.

I never got sick, nor do I know anyone who did get sick from raw milk, it's like Lou said, it's about how the milk was handled!

The only reason I quit is because my friend sold his cows, I wish I could still get the raw milk from him and still make my own butter too!

SR
Of course it is all about how it is handled. That is exactly what the FDA is going after this guy for. Mishandling things. Not complying with the regulations to handle things. Not because he is Amish.

No.

They’ve been a large food source for several decades. They have markets everywhere serving millions of people in southeast PA, DE, NJ and MD. They have them in Philadelphia at the Reading Terminal Market right in the middle of downtown.
They have several large markets all around southeast PA. People also travel into Lancaster County to buy their food. They have their own brands of meats, cheeses, even doughnuts.
Great people and the bulk of the food they make blows away the boxed, processed junk at the supermarket.
I buy food from them at 2 farm markets near me. They will bring their foods to distant farm markets and sell to anyone.
They are same here in Northern Indiana. We have a large Amish community a couple counties over. They have a market here in South Bend. The doughnuts are amazing..... we call them crack doughnuts. Their other food stuffs at the market are similarly good.

However if they are selling to the public they should be expected to follow the same safety regulations as other producers.
