Amish farm under threat from U.S. federal govt for refusal to abandon traditional farming practices

Of course it is all about how it is handled. That is exactly what the FDA is going after this guy for. Mishandling things. Not complying with the regulations to handle things. Not because he is Amish.

No he did not mishandle things.
He is selling a product that bureaucratic busy bodies don't approve of.
And he is selling meat that even slaughtered and cut up in business that is cleaner and maybe better run then others,
does not have an Inspector standing by when they are killing and cutting.
While some regulation may be desirable for food safety the rules and regulations they have gone way to far over board
especially on the smaller independent operators.

That would be cream not milk, skimming was not allowed had to be stirred before you got a glass. otherwise no one would drink the last half.

That's why I'd get up before my older siblings, grab a bowl of fortified oat flakes, and pour the cream on it. Sometimes the little kid lives like a king!

What's really strange is the story starts out regarding listeria in milk but then changes to how he slaughters his beef. It would be interesting to read actual documents in the case (or cases) vs. some slanted Yahoo article.

It looks like the article was talking about a series of issues that Miller was involved in. It's easy to ignore the "slanted" stuff.

Every Community store I've been in has a Health Department Certificate and Tax License displayed and many have occupancy permits from either the fire or building departments. They are not exempt from normal regulations.

It's not "raw" milk. It's just milk. It was meant to be consumed that way and was for hundreds of years. All the other watered down variations that cause things like IBS should have the adjectives in front of them.
