thanks for the update on Toppop, very saddened by this news, condolences to his family, friends, and all of us in the TBN community.

spent the day in town, got a few things done.
bought spark plugs, chicken feed, stopped in on a few people, scraps pickup, and also bought some cheaper "maintenance beer" for when my buddies come by later this week to help me with the El Camino etc. when they get it running, I'll get some "gift beer" of their choice :)
back to the bookkeeping after dinner

we had an 8 min downpour tonight, huge dump of rain, high winds - everyone in the store stopped their shopping to look out the window, trees were bending and some were even breaking, power went out and generator kicked in at the grocery store. wild.

Good evening all. hit post before I did my report :( 73ºF for the start, overcast, .1 inch in rain gauge from yesterday. Light wind day, sky varied in between mostly cloudy and overcast, and high temp was 89ºF, HI 96ºF. Men's meeting to start day, then bike ride. After lunch took trimmer for walk around driveway and house then nap. Dinner at Mexican restaurant. :)
PJ hope interview goes well. It is frustrating when people make bad decisions, and so many of them do have sharp teeth.
Roy glad audit going well. Hope you survive today with the second shift audit.
Buppies Glad wife looke good last night. Sorry about pond going down, was that 12 inch or 1.2 inch of rain. Nice to bae able to appreciate the good in one's life.
Billy love the low humidity days. High was not as well entrnch inlate August as they usually are. Glad cool enough to run the chansaw.
Drew thanks for the answer, a lot of large cabin boats on Lake of the Ozarks would have Port of St. Louis on stern, and with no locks on Bagnell Dam, impossible to navigate to there. Thanks for the info.
Frits hope bike helps during rehab. Hope your wife dies not have any side effects this time.
Scotty sorry about the no rain in months. Many of us in Texas had no rain and 100+ days for 2+ months. We understand your pain.
RNG sorry about the DMV and no bolts in stock. The iceing on thecake must have been the forklift driver abusinf the pallet on the landplane.
Ken good to hear son settling back in school.
Paul glad flying went well and got good lunch. The folks I worked with were very much in love with Kroil. Be interesting if something better out there. Hope breakfast went well.
Drew I was thinking water closer to 8 pounds per gal.
PJ sounds like good weather for Labor Day Weekend.
PJ hate to hear that in STL area.
Scaredy Amazing story, glad it ended all good between you two.
Frits hope shoulder heals soon. Inned to sharpen my blade :(.
David hope to hear good report on Sophies eyes. Good to hear painting is progressing.
Thomas glad not long day at job, no looking forward to me getting sneakers for my truck.

A productive, albeit expensive day.
Sophie’s ophthalmologist appeared happy with the Az Dr report as they seemed in agreement. Says he sees improvement in the pictures but opted to try another drop prescription and back in 30 days. Copay for drops was over $75 after some sort of non insurance discount. He is concerned that damage to optic receptors may not fully recover. Says he does have 1 other patient in his massive practice with similar conditions who is also a mystery.

Can’t believe how much 2 small fillings cost after insurance. Sometimes I think having dental and vision insurance costs us more in the end.

Successful trip to HD for lattice and pegboard, but we had to hunt for the pegboard. Someone had covered with other sheets of plywood. Funny, but all the help disappeared when time to load. Another customer helped. Adding some pegboard is a non structural mod to tractorshed. The lattice an attempt to dress up the BBQ area at Studio/caretaker unit and a bit of privacy from my equipment storage.

Did have a nice lunch at our favorite Japanese restaurant.

Home later than hoped but still managed the second coat of paint on my 2x4’s. Will be ready to assemble tomorrow.

The news of Randy still somewhat numbing. Thank you Drew for the update.

60° right now...high in the mid-60's...I love this kind of weather! (except we need more rain)

Audit is going well...another minor finding that actually should go to one of our sister sites...and we will let them know they screwed up. Pretty easy fix though...
We audit 3rd shift this morning which is why I'm up so early...

good morning all
cool 61 out this morning going to low 80's in nice weather.

I've met Toppop several times, first at a car meet with my wife and friends in DE.
Then met his second wife, before they got married, at diner near his home.
A very nice, gentle human being that would do anything for anybody.

But clearly he was in terrible health, struggling with a variety of challenges and they were simply too much.
This was no surprise, sadly for his new wife. Big hug to her from all of us for the good care she gave Randy.

That's number two in this group. Let's stay healthy guys.
RIP Toppop. You surely will be missed.

News on Randy is numbing. Hard to believe.

Saw a piece of property In Botetourt county that looked promising, then yesterday it went into pending state, so guess it has a contract on it.

my plans for today were to go with friend back to Fort Dix area in NJ and return the Gravely. Decided he could do that fine by himself, he will bring his Ridgeline
over to hook up my trailer and take it with him. He goes every week with groceries for his 102 year old mother. What a good son....really.
I had something I wanted to work on more...my basement.
Today I vacuum down there and get ready for Ken coming over tomorrow morning to set up the hot tub. It isn't going to be hard to do, we both watched the youtube video, but will be fun
to do it with someone else. I admit I tend to look at crummy instructions like I got and give up too early, looking for a teenager...but now thanks to Youtube, it's not so hard anymore.

need to mow the lawn today also. That last little bit of rain we got spurred it back on. I don't mind, with someone else doing the weedeating, I can't complain about riding around on a mower with power steering. Maybe it's my sanity check...if I can't do this, maybe time for nursing home.
Which is why I love to see Buckeye's Dad on the tractor. Yup, I can still do this.

Life is good but fleeting. Remember to tell those you love you do, don't take it for granted.
Sometimes they get away from us.

Roy, you've been up all night, third shift audit means you have to physically be there? I'd get cameras...

I worked third shift for three years during college summers. Union Camp multiwall bag factory. Think bags that cement comes in. Hard factory job at end of production line.
guys there kept egging me on to get degree so I wouldn't have to come back...
QC also on third shift, had to be, if glue line got off on bags, bottoms would blow out of bag while filling, customer goes nuts as it shuts down their line.

With our QC guys here, I just have to chuckle. QC was the station next to mine, up the long rollerway where all the bags came down.
I'd hear her swearing and squawking and she had a red button or something she would push that lit up somewhere on the last machine, called a bottomer, since it put the bottoms
on multiwall bags, and the operator would have to stop the production line.
QC person not usually favorite among staff. Unfortunately. QC preserves reputation of company long term. Probably the most important job in the place.
Which Roy you should tell your boss at next annual review...

if my telling these stories is getting too much, send me a PM and tell me to be quiet. I won't be offended.
