Anybody use one--good or bad ?

I have one on the Toolcat and the wife's Deere. Both of those are AWS and power steering. They can really be hand wreckers on a old tractor with mechanical steering.

They work great if you have to maneuver around obstacles quite a bit. Remember that with hydraulic steering, the knob will not stay in the location you originally mount it.

I wouldn't be without mine. Love it!

However if you do not have power steering you better not have one on there. It will break your fingers right now!!

Yep. I've had one for 21 years on my machine. Tractor Supply sells a few of them. I'm sure they can be found elsewhere. Really handy (no pun intended), especially when doing loader work, or mowing around tight obstacles.

stupid question--do you put it at 12 oclock or 6 oclock ?

I found a deal on ebay several years ago on wheel spinners. paid 28 bucks for 10 of the same kind that kubota brands as their own so everything has a spinner.

Word of advice is to pop the cap off the top and put a bit of grease or lube on the bearing or it'll rust and seize pretty easily.

If its a hydraulic steering tractor, it'll be at 6 when you put it on and at anyone's guess from then on. Personally I prefer 4 on a mechanically steered unit.

Neither, my tractors are both hydrostatic steering so it can wind up most anywhere.

Mine are both from a local truckstop and are the 'girlie' knobs where the gal drops her top when you use it...

Variety is the 'spice' of life.

Used to use them on old backhoe. New tractor has such great power steering I just use my palm and around we go.

Not sure why you would want it with power steering. We had them on the old tractors and they were very useful but we also occasionally had sprained fingers and wrists.

If you have hydrostatic steering, it won't matter, because it will move around. Only directly linked steering would stay in the same place.

It was the first addition to my LS.

I love having a steering knob. When your doing hay it makes turning back in on a row much easier than having to spin the steering wheel by and and gives a general reference on when your wheels are straight again. I also like it for loader work as you can keep one hand on the loader controls and the other on the knob. Palming a wheel for hours on end gets old fast. Anything to make life easier when spending hours on the tractor is worth it.

It is annoying how the know ends up in random spots due to full hydro steering.
