MF GC 2300 temp guage install ???

Has anyone installed a temp guage into a gc2300 and if so where would one install the temp probe.There's a place in the instument panel to mount one.I'd leave the idiot light connected but would really like to know what the temp of the coolant is in both summer and winter use.As always Larry

Larry-- check back a year+ for a thread on this. I put one in on mine, but removed the "idiot light" sender to mount it.

Suggestion: Don't get a cheap one like I did- get a regular tractor- or marine- application gauge so it'll be water resistant.

Hey there Irvingj when you installed yours into where the old sender was did the new one thread in or did you have to do anything to make it work. I,am going to go see about buying one so just wondering if threads etc are the same thing as whats there now. On another note tried to do search on the thread you mentioned and I comes up with nothing.Maybe not typing the right thing in. Thanks for the info as always Larry

I had to buy an additional threaded adapter, which was not included with the cheap gauge I bought. Check out the thread.

Thanks for the info and pictures and old thread.It gave me enough info to go ahead and install mine today.Haven't tried it out yet as just finished the install before supper.Maybe I'll give it a try tommoro.I wasn't able to find a metric adapter so just retreaded with a 3/8 pipe tread tap and installed the new stuff.Of course mine is a electric style so just used the exsiting wires for my supply.Just cut them off from the idiot bulb and connected them to the proper places on the guage.Still need to connect for the light maybe I'll put a bulb into the fuel guage at the same time.Again thanks for the info.As always Larry

Have a GC2300 that likes to overheat. Been in the shop for a while. today the "technician" told us that the dash light only comes on
when the coolant is hot. However, over the years the dash light would come on when the key was turned to on. Now it doesn't, not
sure, I believe him.

Mine doesn't come on when turned to the "on" position.

Yes. Take a look at the right pic in post #2 above. It's tiny, but yeah, RPM & hours.
