what on earth does electricity cost near you?

Just paid a commercial electric bill pre heat wave... $32,000 for 31 days which works out to 30 cents kWh...

2-3 months ago in KY Lake region was just under 11 cents plus $30 meter fee. It might be higher now because they have yet to ask me about what I thought.

August bill was $73.76 for 274 KWH , supposedly where I live has the highest cost in the State of Wisconsin, but I’m very well satisfied with the cost and service, the electricity rarely goes off here and when it does it’s usually back on again within an hour, about 30 years ago it went off once for about 24 hours but thankfully it wasn’t in the middle of winter on a very cold day.

The 30 cent kWh is considered an excellent rate... I have paid residential over 40 cents kWh

Natural gas is way up too... One person hot water heating and minimal gas dryer about $50 a month...

Winter is when people scream opening PGE...

Fuel is down especially at the high volume stations… down 60 cents a gallon to 5.37

Rooftop solar is too popular in CA with a million installs so far… so much so there is a equity push to add a monthly $50-60 infrastructure fee and sharpen the period of time before full implementation as early adopters promised 20 years.

Popular or forced on them? It is mandated by the California 2019 Building Energy Efficiency Standards. As of 01/01/2020 new residential construction and multi-family under 3 stories are required to have solar systems. The size of the equipped system will be determined by the ability to offset 100% of the home’s electricity usage. The cost is added into the price or a new home.

My electrical coop is still 10.5 cents per kWh plus the 20$ meter fee. Has not gone up in several years. Hope they don't read this and get any ideas.

I'm in the inner cities with mostly all single family housing stock built 1910-1960

Can't leave home without seeing a new PV install going in.

Some of the older areas have higher ratio of renters getting upset they don't have solar but everytime I looked into it the incentives targeted owner occupied...

Have not check lately...

Some with existing PV are expanding to cover the new EV cars...

Except for pickups... most of those I work with are buying EV of some kind...

Long gone are the days when the Doctor parking lot was full of Mercedes, Porsche with Ferrari in the mix...

Now almost exclusively EV...

My power has gone up about $0.02 per KWH every month this summer was $0.14 KWH now we are over $0.20 per KWH,
this number is acquired by simply dividing the bill by the KWH used as the bill from National Grid is pages long of fee's delivery charges and product fee's and charges.

Our physician parking lot is still 50% pickups and SUVs. There is only the big 3 dealers in town, GM, Ford, and Dodge/Ram/Jeep. There is an occasional EV as there is no provision for charging.
