After finding out 99% of second hand tractors are..... Let's just say iffy, atleast in the Australian market, I was reconsidering and going to look at buying from a dealership, and found I have some options

The first is to buy from a dealer, they sell euro leopard tractors (I've never heard of them but maybe some people have) cheap enough to make me have to double take, but even with the reputation of Chinese equipment I still feel like it'd be less of a gamble than buying second hand. And the reviews seem positive enough.

Or, I contacted my local dealer asking about financing and if it would be possible to finance a third party tractor/to buy a used one from them (massive lot out back of used tractors, probably 100 or so), and I'm hopefully going down next week to see what I can get and for what price.

I'm trying to stay away from the large major brands, as forking out 25ish K aud for a Kubota/kioti/Massey/John Deere seems excessive, especially for the smaller property I'm on. However if it's recommended to the point of Insanity I'd consider, as spending 10-15K and sending another 5 on repairs is just worse than doing 25K on a machine that just works

My thought is you are less likely to get a stolen tractor buying from a dealer.
With used prices sometimes within $10K of new and the ability to get 0% financing new and knowing you won't have unexpected repairs I think it could be beneficial to buy new.

Yeah that's the road I've hit, a John Deere 855 is selling for 9K with a loader, I still have to transport it, fix it, ect. Or I can spend alittle more and buy from a dealer, I'll look around and consider

(Plus paying 100$ a week is far more reasonable then the 10'000 upfront I need for a used model) plus 0% would be a no brainer

If you look at new Kubota check out the NCHA 20% member discount.

The stealership is going to charge you a premium for anything they sell. On the upside the financing may be free. So that's appealing if you can't afford to pay for what you want to buy. ;)
On the other hand for a small property take your time, look at a bunch of tractors, and buy the best machine you can afford. And trade up in a few years if you find you need a bigger machine.

Yeah, whislt a tiny Kubota (12-15hp ones) is perfect, due to wanting to do some ground work, and with the sheer amount of clay soil here, I'm forced to go 20hp or higher, since otherwise the equipment straight up is too weak. Lucky my local dealer sells used too so I'll go and look there

I only see a $2400 discount on an L series with the NCHA? Where is the 20%?
It is also not available with any finance offer

Welp. I guess the discount changed. It used to be 20% off the tractor and implements.

Yeah, the L has the largest discount at $2400 with a CASH purchase. $400 for any SINGLE implement. Not valid with any finance offer. Sounds like they gutted it

Another thing that influenced my purchase was the $2k sales tax the dealer charged that the private seller did not.
