Diabetes

The success in my case of controlling diabetes I can attribute to my wife who has been very supportive and changed her approach to shopping for groceries to be based on ingredients with low carb content and preparing food from scratch. That means no potatoes, bread, pasta , rice etc and no beer, candy, sugar and so on. But with her cooking skills she makes healthy delicious food with a minimum of carbs. If it was not for my wife I would not have been able to this.

Thanks for sharing. In 2014 my health was crashing to a new low and I didn't want our 16 year old kids to watch my demise because they were helping me get dressed and in and out of vehicles, etc. About that time I started waking up with the understanding I could get better if I stopped eating sugar and grains. Enbrel injections were to start in 90 days but 60 days later at the age of 63 I could see me in my coffin and a string of visitors passing by all saying well the fat ass finally ate himself to death.

30 days later my pain was dropping like a rock. The 40 years of life defining IBS resolved for good and the mental fog started to clear. It saved my life and my business.

I do not advise other people to eat this way but it worked for me. I now understand our bodies know what we need to eat and if we will listen to it it will tell us clearly if we are serious about eating for life versus death.

Several years ago had a not so good blood test A1C was 10.0, like previous mention - diet and exercise is needed to control. Instead of doing the diet, I did the life-style change. My saying is No GPS - no Grains, no Potatoes, no Sugar. Took about a full year (4 years ago), lost 40lbs, latest blood work shows A1C at 5.7. The hardest part for me was not eating the potatoes. Good thing I like peppers and onions.

Healthy diet is important for all the people, not only for those with the diagnose .
For those with the type 2 diabetes, how often to you buy victoza online?
Do you use any tracking app or device for your sugar levels?

Mostly I run 7 to 7.2 but with shots. Right now too high pressure from home front and job working on me. Eating right will certainly help but mine is hereditary even when I weighted 170 no change

my other labs were good Ravimor but haven't seen last weeks sugar results. I believe AIC was down to some acceptable level, will check.
I wish you luck!

I have 30 years of experience in managing diabetes going from a high of 12 to 14 A1C to 7 or less by using a combination of diet and exercise to control it. Get tested every 6 months for A1C to check that it stays in control. I will be glad to share and answer any questions you may have.
Thank you so much for your reply. So you say you managed to lower your numbers without meds?
