I couldnt imagine welding and cutting with a torch in a robe and sandals
Where its also probably 100F all day (not including running the torch)...

I have thought about trying to build a power telescopic loader arm for my little skid steer. Would have to be accompanied by a front stabilizer. The idea would just be to load stuff up to a ~12ft balcony on a building i haven't built yet, so.. just brainstorming so far. 😂

The more practical approach is buy and fix a broken scissor lift. But that's a little boring.

Buy a larger tractor. My M9's vertical reach on the buckets is just about 12 feet.

Love it. Fully Automated!!!
The factory where I previously worked in Germany referred to their Turkish workers by the unfortunate slight of, "Turban robots". Although I chuckled the first time I heard it, it does conjure a funny image, it always bothered me to hear some very nice and very hard working people treated with such little respect.

Yes. Back in the late 80's my employer hired a company to do some large machinery installations. One of the guys on the crew was a young man in his 20s, from Iran (think his name was Samir). Great guy. Hard worker. But man, that guy took some grief from his American coworkers. I was really surprised he didn't club them with a pipe wrench. Wouldn't have blamed him. But he needed the job and was sending money home to his parents.

Being 1/4 African American I'm always very cognizant of not demeaning anyone because they are different that I am.

If i bought a real piece of crap (i might!) it might be a reasonably cheap approach. But i don't really have any other use for such a large tractor around here. I guess i wouldn't have any other use for a scissor lift either, so maybe the skid steer isn't such a bad idea?!
