Even when you bake them?Blanch the peppers before stuffing them, otherwise they are too hard and crunchy.

Nothing weird about halibut cheeks, very best part of a really good fish!Rhubarb porridge, blood sausage (never liked it), halibut cheeks....we had soo much food that would be "weird" to Americans........I grew up on coastal Norway
Oh yes and fresh out of the water!Nothing weird about halibut cheeks, very best part of a really good fish!
Likewise with many fish...the cheeks can be some of the tastiest parts...Grouper cheeks are especially good...very palatable texture and exceptional taste...Actually grouper cheeks have a texture that is similar to a Halibut filet...where the grouper filet is a bit lighter and flakier...Nothing weird about halibut cheeks, very best part of a really good fish!
I grew up eating liver and onions, loved it! Got married, wife hates it, even the smell. Years ago she would let me fix it when she was out for the evening. She was out one evening and I fixed myself liver and onions with a side of broccoli.Liver is great with caramelized onion, bacon and brown gravy!
Never had that problem when I've made them.Blanch the peppers before stuffing them, otherwise they are too hard and crunchy.
Ox tail and lamb shanks used to be really cheap as well, now they cost more than some steaks!Usually NY Strip as that is much cheaper and often available in a full strip (about 12-14 lbs). I will often cut a roast of 3-4 lbs and then slow roast it on the grill to med rare, much like Prime Rib is done. Delicious with homemade horseradish sauce.
When I was a kid we did not have steak much and when we did it was chuck as that was cheap. Now that is expensive too. As much as on-sale NY Strip.
I raise my own beef and could never see the point of oxtail. Pretty much all bone.Ox tail and lamb shanks used to be really cheap as well, now they cost more than some steaks!
I'd adjust the salt and pepper on the next batch.I grew up eating liver and onions, loved it! Got married, wife hates it, even the smell. Years ago she would let me fix it when she was out for the evening. She was out one evening and I fixed myself liver and onions with a side of broccoli.
She came home, complained a bit about the smell. Later that night as we were getting into bed, I broke wind, big gusts. Smelled like a combination of sulfur and burning tires.
I have not been allowed liver and onions since![]()
