Depends on the trailer though. I have a little 4x8 tilt trailer I use for my snowmobile, that is the most miserable thing to back I've ever seen. Goes where it wants, and jack-knifes easily. Also have a 5x10 that goes right where I want it every time. No idea why the difference, fortunately, the small one is light enough to maneuver by hand.
Was commenting about it once to my BIL, who used to be a truck driver. He said small trailers can be some of the hardest to back.

Never did a fender, but I did munge the tailgate on my truck on the trailer jack. Had the tailgate down so I could see better, and there was enough clearance for slight turns, but not a sharp one. Lesson learned hard way...remove tailgate before backing with trailer!

I used to be able to even parallel park a traiier. Lately I have been forgetting which way to turn the steering wheel. It sure takes a lot longer to get there now.

You don't need vinyl bench seats for that! I once managed to launch a gf out of a bucket seat and across the center console. She should've been wearing a seatbelt!

Vinyl was skin-melting hot in summer, and freeze your ass off cold in the winter. My parents were poor, they were forced to buy cheap used cars with vinyl seats. But who would choose this infinitely inferior material on purpose?

My cars have leather, and my trucks are ordered with the most durable fabric option. Please shoot me if I'm ever forced to ride on vinyl again.

This is the interior of my 2016 F150. 40/20/40 seats - all the small crap you're talking about goes in the back of the /20/ seatback that is always folded forward. But no console extending all the way to the dash.

Oh, I misunderstood. My consoles don't go to the dash. More floorboard room between console and seats than your pic.

This is what I was talking about - what I refuse to buy. Tall console and shifter in the middle, running all the way to the dash so the driver sits in a narrow chute.

That's very similar to my Colorado. It has it's advantages... although I can't think of any right off the top of my head.
As I said before though, I do like the floor shifter for winter driving. Kick it down into manual select and shift with a button on the side of the shifter knob.

To me vinyl hit it's peak (annoyance value) about the time bug spray with DEET became popular. Spray the DEET on your skin, melt the vinyl seat.
