Awesome! I was just looking at my cables and they are going to need to be replaced soon. Do you know of any place to get the joystick boot? Mine is gone and I would like to replace it with the cables so they don't rust out again.

Also, Have you ever removed the valves from the block to replace seals or O-rings in there? My loader leaks down after a while and I think the internal valving is leaking by.

I have not....mines long gone. I just make sure to keep dirt and debris out for now. I suspect their p40/p80 joystick is the same as ours, though I can't find the boot as an individual replacement on their website. It might be worth a call to see if they offer one.

I have yet to remove the valves either.

There is not any seals or o-rings that you can replace in a valve that will solve internal leakage. If your valve is leaking externally then you could replace o-rings to fix.

All valves have internal leakage to some degree. Some are worse than others and usually valve manufacturers publish the amount of leakage they consider normal. Sometimes a bad piston seal on a cylinder will make the internal leakage more noticeable.

Thanks, I have had all my loader cylinders rebuilt in the past few months along with some lines. It leaks down over 24 hours or so. I will put it full up and when I look in the morning or afternoon it's either on the ground or close. not sure how normal that is. I am more worried about the valve blowing fluid by, some times it seems like I'm not getting full lifting capacity. I will pull back on the stick and the loader just sits there for a second before lifting the load. or if I want to lift the front of the tractor it takes a good while before it builds enough pressure to lift up the front. not sure how normal that is for the C-50 loaders or this hydraulic pump.

Without knowing the brand an model of the loader valve it will be hard to determine if that is normal. Leakage normally is expressed in cc‘s or ml’s per minute. I have seen high numbers such as 15cc per minute and as low as 1cc per minute.

The valve could have more wear that would make the internal leakage worse or out of spec. The only thing you can do to fix that is replace the valve.

More common in regards to it taking time to build pressure is air is somehow getting into the system. This is usually a suction hose or fitting allowing air in. Sometimes it is possible to dump the bucket faster than the pump can replenish fluid and that creates a little air. If you cycle the cylinders fully several times then try to lift the front will it build pressure quicker? That would tell if you have air in the system.

As a side note, I do not like leaving pressure on my system so everything is lowered to the ground before I shut the tractor down. Hope that helps.

Funny you mentioned the supply. I just went through an tightened all the clamps up last weekend. I would love to replace the loader valve if you know where to get a replacement. I see a lot of the valves with handles on them. I'm guessing you remove the handles and put the cable adapter into it? I usually always have the loader down when done for the day. I just have left it up a few times and see that it does it. also, my 3 point lift leaks by horribly. if you leave it up and shut the tractor off, it drops like a rock. so I'm guessing I'm losing some pressure and flow there. although it the three point lever is down I don't believe there is any flow going to that piston.

This is a link to my post showing what I used for a boot on my C50 joystick.

See Post #16 above the picture for the P/N of the boot.
