Here's something to think about also. I've been following all these tractor forums for many, many years. Remember way back when the John Deere threads were the only ones absolutely booming? And there were many members buying multiple tractors, and bigger tractors. And now a LOT of them just disappeared. I knew many of them. Know why they disappeared? Because they lost their tractors because they couldn't afford them.

Notice now......John Deere is the most expensive tractor and all the Deere forums have almost no activity on them any more. LOL

I wanted to run a 6’ tiller… so PTO HP was a consideration. Just didn’t really like the stance and platform of the 4815, so went to the larger frame

I bought a larger heavier tractor not so much for the hp, but more for the stability and loader capacity.

Actually I am finding the opposite with implements. I have acquired some nice stuff from the yuppies that though they wanted to have a small farm. I picked up a near new tiller last year 6 ft and a Brand New land plane a few weeks ago for about 75 percent less than new ones would cost.

I can see this perspective. Whether used implements will continue cost as much as new going forward depends on whether the supply shortage ends, how inflation goes, and what happens in the economy.

I would have traded HST for more HP with gears. Love my shuttle shift.

Don't be rich in horsepower but poor in implements. Implements are the tools that the tractor needs to do work.

I'll add that it is totally different needs for businesses or real workers, where time is money (and hopefully tax deductible) from people like me that uses my tractor to fix up my property. Roads are built, land is cleared and I use mine now just for maintaining the property.

All of these just reflect the limited budget. Spending just slightly more would have eliminated all of these compromises

Many of us are on a budget; so finances are indeed a consideration. I've had mine for 4 1/2 years and the only reason I sometimes wish I'd gone bigger is because it would have eliminated the HST. The 3901 had live PTO, the geared 3301 didn't.

I've put nearly 600 hours on yet I still stall more doing loader work than I ever did with my geared L275.

I down size from L2800HST to B2650HSD and doing more projects and Mrs. feels lot more comfortable operating.
