Like everything else in life, you get what you pay for. You buy cheap, you get cheap.
An independent repairman told me the same thing a few years ago. Stick with basic no frills appliances. That $4000 fridge with Bluetooth just ain’t worth it.My friend was an appliance repair man, had his own business and he gave it up and went trucking.
I asked him if he was insane?
He said no, I just can't take it any more, having to tell people that "you can replace your whole refrigerator cheaper than I can get you a new crisper drawer that you cracked." He said they are all throw away junk now. Cheaper to replace than fix.
I don't bother with expensive appliances any more. I buy the cheapest ones and throw them out when they fail. And so far they last just as long.
I bought a cheap washing machine from Home Depot that had the worst reviews I ever saw. So far it has been flawless.
I’m not aware that Sears is still in business.Used to be able to get Kenmore parts from Sears for years. Even Sears has changed dramatically.
We still have our Maytag wringer washer in the shop as a backup and it still runs like new.The days of 30 year old Maytag's and Kenmore's are gone, LOL
